It's funny how you when your in "the truth" you don't think of these limits as controling. It reminds me of this holier than thou couple in my cong. that would watch rated R movies on the t.v. because they were edited. They would be talking to people about that movie and would always add "I of course watched it on FOX, because I would never watch a rated R movie." Can you say puke!!! or stupid rules like not hanging out in even numbered groups. I accually had friends that could not attend a movie, dinner etc. if there was an even # of girls and guys. I'm glad you and everyone here acknowledge that this is not a way to lead your life.

What to say when your asked, "How was your memorial?" or, "Did you go?"
by cab1000 inyou are fading, and dont want your friends / family from out of town to know that you no longer want to be a jw.
they may know that you are not going to all the meetings, or not.
but since the biggest deal to them has been the memorial, they expect that you went.. we did not go.

Question for those who work in food service...
by Elsewhere intoday i went out to get lunch at a little shop that sells sandwiches.
i got one, but they were closing so i could not eat it there.
i decided to go to a nearby barns & noble bookstore with a starbucks style cafe.

no offense, but I work at a bar that during the day doubles as a chuckie cheese for kids. (it's the only resaraunt for miles) and parents try to bring in McDonalds and subway. basically it's up to the owner, I know that for some reason when I see those kids bring that food in I am super bi#*% waitress with a mission. Because I have the authority to tell them what to do. I think that it's just a power trip we food industy losers do to have some say in something. But then I could just be talking out my butt and just want to answer somebody's question.

I feel like I'm in the "I'm not sure class." After being in the organization for so long I have kind of a bad taste in my mouth for it. There is so much hypocracy in so many religions, and after this being engrained in your head for so long, I've found that it is hard. It's funny because my boyfriend would like to find a church to go to and all I can do is find something wrong with it. Does anyone else feel this way? kiley
