recently, i've been thinking that regretting past actions is not constructive.
sure, we should base our current actions by assessing the results of our former actions, but regretting decisions we've made is, in effect, yearning to change the person we are now or rejecting ourselves.

New member, question thats been asked many times, but how do you feel ?
by Greyeyes ini came across this site, and while still my upbringing says i should stay away from such site, i had to join.
a bit of a background about me.
i'm 31, my parents became witnesses when i was born so they could give me the best upbringing they felt possible.

by minimus insince the jw religion is sooooo restrictive, it is good to think about just how wacky this cult is.....for example, you can get counseled for buying a 2 door car as opposed to a "pioneer" car (4 door).

by ACEofCAD inannounced our circuit overseer last night in his talk about the urgency to preach because of the times.
followed by a silence that was broken with ohhhs and ahhhs.
he said that a couple of times throughout his part, simulating a beating heart with his fist.

I remember everytime before a storm there would be tons of crows out in the fields my mother would look at them and say look they are getting ready for their feast after armagedon. it always made me so sick

Welcome Greyeyes, Ive only been on this forum for about a month now. and the wealth of information about the supposed "truth" is overwelming. I had originally been thinking about going back to meetings ( I was a bit nostalgic at memorial time) but the more I learn the farther I want to stay away. Please do research and share with your girlfriend make sure she really knows what the JW's are all about
