) and hubby has been undecided whether to even bother telling his jw lot about it as they are shunning me (d'ad) and have hardly anything to do with him or kiddies.. anyway he was away yesterday and she rang him just to find out train times (only reason she ever rings cos she wants him to fiddle her cheap tickets), he said 'by the way youre gonna have another grandchild soon' what did she say was she pleased did she say congratulations?hell no!
"oh right" then silence, then "well i won't be allowed to see it anyway will i seen as d's d'ad herself".
Congratulations on your pregnancy, Dobbie. You just ignore their ignorance, and enjoy your pregnancy.....hope you are feeling well?!
My parents, also, have had very little to do with my children, over the years. They've never taken them anywhere, or even had them stay over. They've never bought them anything either, unless it was a freebie, from McDonald's or something silly like that!!
Then they wonder why my kids don't get excited when they show up once in awhile. It's sad, really.

last night, a small group ( about 8 ) of teenagers gathered to go watch the meteor showers.
a young man, known to all, drove up, asking what was going on.
they told him they were talking about where was the best place to go watch.
I discussed with my daughter, the "Friends don't let Friends drive drunk". I told her that if her plans for the evening get toasted, then, so be it. To take the keys. With the exception, of not hopping onto the vehicle, and risking being drug down the street.
Good for you, HL. This is extremely important for our teens to understand, that their drunk friends may well in fact become quite beligerant, and perhaps even ugly with them, but they cannot give in, and let them drive away. They will sober up the next morning, and be grateful that they had friends who cared enough to hold them back from getting behind the wheel.
Nor, can they EVER get in the car with a drunk driver. NEVER. I have another very close friend who lost her sister to a drunk driver, because she made a last minute decision to get into the car with someone who she knew had been drinking. She died a few minutes later.
Snakes, I'm glad you are still with us. What a scary ordeal.

LOL, BFD....you're right. Well, I don't like strawberry pie, but I love strawberries .....nor do I like "shoo-fly-pie"....it's a pie that the Mennonites make.....I think it tastes gross....it's made with molasses and brown sugar or something like that...yukkies.

It's important for everyone to know, that a friend does not allow a friend, to drive drunk. We must all do our part, to make sure they do not get behind the wheel after they have been drinking. Whether it be taking their keys as soon as they arrive to a party, or arranging for them to spend the night, or calling a cab, or the police, if they refuse to stay put.
Tonight, I received sad news, that a good friend of ours, had a car accident, at 2 am, thismorning. They found his body, thrown from the car, in a pond. He was old enough to know better.....he'd driven drunk, many, many times before. While this news has shocked, and saddened my husband and I, we are not surprised.
The real sad thing is, he leaves behind two impressionable young teenaged sons, who have witnessed him drinking and driving many times over the years. My hope is, they learn that what happened to their father, could very well happen to anyone, who drinks, then gets behind the wheel. Thank god he did not kill anyone else.

Cellist, that looks Dee-lish!!! Making pies from crabapples sounds like a lot of work though. Aren't they kinda small? I'll bet they taste really yummy.
I also use Tenderflake for my pastry. My absolute favorite pie is cherry...then apple, peach, and crumbleberry. I like lemon and key lime pie as well. Oh, and pecan. Pumpkin.....oh yummy.............................
Now I'm drooling, thinking about all the different kinds that I love.....
Margarita
- 1-1/2 oz 100% blue agave tequila
- 1 oz orange-flavored brandy, such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker two-thirds full of ice. Shake until well chilled. Pour the mixture into a salt-rimmed (optional) margarita or martini glass.
Yup.....this, is by far, my most favorite mixed drink. I LOVE Tequila. Sometimes I like to switch it up a bit, and drink Long Island Ice tea, but Tequila does it for me.
