  some days its so far in my past, i can hardly recall it.

  Leslie....I'm so sorry you endured this. I cannot believe your mom said that to you. Mothers are supposed to be nurturing and caring and loving. Protective of their children, no matter their age. You said,

  My daughter would beat the shit out of a man, spit him out and serve him up to the devil if they touched her. She knows and will not live or tolerate it.

  AMEN!!!!! Good for you! I'm proud of you for teaching your daughter to look after herself. I'm also glad your eldest son got help, that's half the battle.

  woman in shock after 7-foot python peeps through her toiletthursday october 18, 2007 this sounds like a made-up story just in time for halloween.

  but everyone's nightmare really happened to a new york city woman and she's still struggling to get over it.

  LMAO....Uzzah....she means it too!! You should have seen her scream when she visited me at our trailer in the summer. One of the kids had found a garter snake, and he let my husband hold it. He went to show it to Mary and I, and we both screamed, but she pushed me the hell outta her way like a freight train, and ran off....I don't like 'em either.

  Does having the majority of my apartment already decorated for Christmas count?

  awww...and I thought I started early...lol...day after Halloween my tree goes up...

  uhm, something happy....well, I'm picking up my husband in a few minutes...I haven't seen him since Sunday. That makes me very happy.

  Tipping your hat to a lady is demonic

  i don't have access to the watchtower library right now (i've only got a mac) but i remember laughing my arse off when i read that in an old questions from readers.

  apparently tipping your hat to a lady is considered demonic because it shows deference to the lesser of the sexes, a man putting himself below the woman and other rambling "reasoning" about its origins in medieval times and such garbage.

  I particularly found this little paragraph, "enlightening"....

  To refrain from tipping the hat to a woman does not mean one disrespects her. Frequently it is the ones who are excessively courteous and gallant to women who show the least respect for womanhood. They use these flattering gestures and forms of outward courtesy hypocritically, as an opening wedge for improper advances that ultimately show disrespect and lead to misuse of women. It is not good to flatter people, to turn their head; it is to their harm. Specifically, why would a woman want this special show of respect from a man? One woman said in response to this question: “You don’t know how important it makes a woman feel to have a man tip his hat to her.” That is sufficient reason for Christians to refrain from the custom. It is not in the interests of the individual to make him feel important, whether the individual is male or female.

  Hello everybody

  hi everybody, my name is julie, and this is my first post.. i'm a third generation jw, or at least i was until a two weeks ago, when i was announced as no longer a jw.

  i'm really happy about that, ecstatic in fact, although i'd been a jw all my life, and i'm 37 now.

  i could have disassociated like my friends, but i couldn't be bothered to play their chikdish game, so i let them do it for me.

  Welcome Julie. I'm very sorry for your loss. You will fit right in here...great group of people. I've seen more love here, in the past few days, than I ever saw in my old congregation. I was moved to tears with the love and concern for Trev and Linda.

  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, all the good ones, are leaving the society. And they are showing up, right here, on JWD.

  Well, Trev is ill now!

  at least i don't think so.. he has a flu-like illness and feels pretty awful.

  by his own admission, he's been neglecting himself these last few months, and i think with all the stres he's been under that perhaps his immune system is very low.

  he looks pretty awful as well, like he's had all the blood drained out of him.. even so, he was going to get on with the things he needs to do today, at least until i intervened.
