  "Something in the congregation is hindering the flow of Jehovah's holy spirit" - witch hunt JW style?

  has anyone else experienced something like this?.

  in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.

  but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.

  Rebel, you must have been in my congregation, as the exact same thing happened.... and two of the teens df'd were elders kids who were the biggest drug dealers in the school....

  Funny they would send in a special pioneer for this...where was he when they needed that in my old congregation? Two of the elders were carrying on affairs, one lied for almost 3 years until he was finally caught, the other continued to lie, but finally stepped down for a period of time, then was made an elder again after I left...he just moved recently...I wonder if the "air" has finally cleared??? Not interested enough to go and find out!!

  It certainly sounds like a witch-hunt to me....

  Toe Rings

  i remember when toe rings were considered a big no no when i was a younger adult.

  a couple of us ventured out and got them anyway.

  we were considered a little weak - tho the ring never actually affected us in anyway.

  I also wear toe rings, and I love them. They are very pretty!! I like wearing an anklet too, so I decided to have one inked in...permanently.

  I remember when it was thought that wearing too many rings was very "worldly"...there were 2 women in the cong. I was in, who wore rings on every finger of both hands....they still do!! And they wear anklets...lol

  Well, my mom became a witness, after her youngest sister died at 16. She was devastated, and when her Anglican minister said that "God needed an angel" my mom was angry that a god would cause her sister to suffer from the age of 9, until 16, when he would then" take her to heaven".

  Enter the Jehovah's witnesses, with all the right answers.....the rest is history...

  Red Red Wine

  i've been trying red wine the last few weeks or so.

  i have acid reflux and it messed (any wine really) with my tummy.

  now i take nexium and my tummy is great.

  I love red wine....Cabernet Sauvignon is one of my favorites after a nice Merlot. As Mary said, Robert Mondavi is VERY nice, as is Wolfblass. However, a little birdie told me about Chilean wines, and I'm hooked. My favorite is Casillero del Diablo, Merlot.

  When I left the organization 11 years ago, I knew nothing,( nor cared really) of how it really operated...until this book was given to me. When I read it, I was stunned and horrified at how little the rank and file really know about what goes on behind the curtain, and how major decisions are made.

  I did not get the feeling that Ray was lying, nor did he ever give the impression that he was arrogant and deceitful. He presented the information with all honesty, and in a very humble manner. The WT is very secretive and uses lies, threats and disfellowshipping to cover up wrongdoing, and to wield it's power over the people.

  I met my husband, (non-witness) when he came to meet his half-sister for the first time. She happened to be married to my brother at the time...we met, and two months later we were married...that was almost 18 years ago.

  I never forgot him, and two years ago found him over the net....we chatted for a few months, then I realized just how lucky I was, that we never did get married. He is a huge flirt, always was, always will be..married 3 times, and if his wife ever finds out what he does on the net, I'm sure he'll be divorced again!! Jerk!

  I can't believe what I did.

  so yesterday i was watching the news and i saw something about secret santa.

  there is this movement of people who hand random strangers $100 bills at places like laundry mats and thrift stores.

  so i was "moved" and decided to give it a shot.

  What you did was amazing!!! No, you're not nuts! That woman has probably never had anything like that happen to her in her life, maybe never again..but she'll never forget it.
