FOR THOSE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE GOING TO THE ASSEMBLY, HERE'S SOME TIPS:
by Mary inyes, there are several of us that either have to go to the crap-assed assembly this year, or simply because we plan on taking notes and posting them here.
knowing how bloody boring the entire thing is, i've made some tips up on how you can keep awake during the 2007 borefest:are you really going to the assembly this year?
are you ready to fall asleep by 10:05am when the opening song and prayer are over?

My Granny (1902-1994)
by Junction-Guy inhelncon's post on grieving made me think back about my granny.
my granny was widowed and lived alone in kentucky in a 2 story house.. .
she was raised and died a baptist, though she didnt attend church much once she was widowed.

What an awesome thread, JG. It brought a grin to my face as well, remembering my own Grandmothers.
My Grandma died this past October, and I miss her greatly too. She was one of 16 kids, the two eldest brothers died before my Grandma was even born, so she never knew them. She raised 7 children, one of whom died at 15. She was always cooking and baking pies. Her cooking was really good. She loved to go fishing, and she'd even clean what she caught We'd watch and make yukky sounds when the innards came out. She'd chase after us if we were getting into trouble, threatening to give us a "fat eye", but she never made good on any threats. We were too cute I s'pose.
Grandma's are wonderful......

JWs and Love towards their families
by R.F. inthis is something that just popped in my mind suddenly.. but i was thinking about over the years the many comments of jws about loved ones.
for instance, one sister was speaking of her disgust with her children not accepting the "truth".
she gladly tells anyone of what she told them; that if they don't accept it before armageddon that it's too bad.

Isn't it amazing how they put their "AGAPE"
love to good use, concerning their non-JW family members, or those who choose not to go anymore?Just last week, my mother made the disgusting comment about my 17 year old nephew who is gay..... she said," I hope he dies before armageddon, then he'll be resurrected".
I was SO angry, I told her that her thinking was WAY off, and how could she say that? She'd rather her grandson dead, than alive????!!!!! That's REAL Christian-like.....NOT!!! and what kind of a grandmother is she, that she'd even think a thing like that, let alone say it??!!!
What a bunch of sickos. I'm so glad she's not close with my kids.
