Male or Female

i have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.

because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.

well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?

It's all so easy to second guess the agonizing decisions of others, isn't it? It's all so easy to stand back and berate the husband of the late Terri Schiavo for conduct past and present, real and imagined. Call the parents all sorts of names.

Now an autopsy has confirmed what more than a dozen courts and judges had already been convinced of - that Terri Schiavo was indeed in a persistent vegetative state - a state from which there was no return. The damage was irreversible, a medical examiner ruled.

During the years since her collapse in 1990, her brain had shrunk to half the size of a normal brain, the autopsy discovered. And since the vision center of her brain had ceased to function, she was also blind. The 4-year-old video that purported to show Terri Schiavo reacting to her parents, turning toward them, smiling, was little more than wishful thinking.

Last I read Terri's parents were still going to be challenging the results. I hope they can find some resolution and deal with their loss and find some sort of solace.

But this should teach us all a lesson. Make sure you have written medical directives on how you would want to be treated in a similar situation. If you would like to be kept alive like this....make your views known. If not make them known too.

I personally think the whole king of the north / south thing to be utter crap. Forced analogies twisted to fit history. I can twist the bible to fit so many different views it's pathetic. In many previous posts I've used scripture to justify many things as a mental excercise. Take scripture and use it to justify the ridiculous position I'm taking. You'll get to see many instances of this if you stick around the board from EvilForce....LOL.

Welcome to the board by the way.

I'm a taoist / buddhist / christian mix....and usually in that order. I'm about 15% christian belief now on a good day.

Your appreciation means alot. I have enjoyed posting here at JWD. Many times we may go round and round on a specific issue but always enjoy the joust. I enjoy the thoughts and comments of others. Intelligent thought and debate are the elixer of life for me. And I enjoy having my assertions challenged. I'm looking forward to trying to get to an Apostafest in the near future to meet some of ya'll in-peron !

Boy its hard for teenaged JW's

i had to come home early from work today because a 17 year old girl came over to me and was all upset she asked if she could come up and visit with my wife and i. she said the brothers are always picking on her and she can not do anything right.

i asked,what have you done she said nothing every time it is some one making things up and she is tired of even trying any longer.

teenagers come from over all the area they they know they can come and talk to us and we will not judge them.
