Mary, here's a piece I've posted before but some helpful insite on the GB>
Faithful and discreet slave class" ...... Here is my explaination of:
Hmm, yes it's tough being a slave class isnt' it? Hang out in fat pad in New York City, not have to do any real work. Write books and magazines pontificating on how "giving" you are as a class. I can only imagine the stress of your everyday existence. Sit around a prepared breakfast with other "slaves" discussing what "new light" you'd like to make up... I mean initiate. Then it's off to "the office" to sit around some more discussing what pieces / parts of blood chemistry are ok as "true Christians". Hmm,,, hemoglobin good.... red blood cells bad..... platelets good..... clotting agents good, no bad, no good, no bad, um.... up to Christian conscience. WHEW!!! Time for lunch. So off you sit to another prepared meal with other "like minded slaves". You use this time to look around the cafeteria looking for "brothers and sisters" who need their "thinking adjusted". Most people call this gossip... you call it "tending to the flock". Tomato / Tomatoe.
After lunch it's on to the most arduous part of your day....preparing to "dispense the food in due season" to the minions.... I mean "other sheep". This is where I see the "sweat of your brow" really forming. This "meaty" food (aka next month's Watchtower) takes alot of thinking. How exactly does "time, time and half a time" tie into 1914, 607 etc... etc.... Wait the 70 years of Jeruselum's fall is a literal year, but time, time, half a time is a figurative year, tied into another literal year of 1914, but tied to Romans 5:12 somehow, "And through one man sin entered into the world". Hmm, this is tough.
You spend the afternoon thinking yourself into a circle until good ole' Brother SoAndSo declares it's time to "throw your burden on Jehovah". SoAndSo rolls a fat joint, smokes a bit and passes it around to other "discreet slaves". The non-marijuana sheep pour themselves a few glasses of the "blood of Christ" (or as Michael Jackson calls it, Jesus Juice). Somehow the circle you thought yourself into earlier in the afternoon now makes complete sense. That joint.... I mean "prayful consideration" really helped clarify your dogma.
Now it's off to the cafeteria for dinner. Chicken Spaghetti again? How many times have you told Brother Chef you don't like chicken?!? He's obviously being "head strong and puffed up with pride". Maybe he needs some "private reproof". No, No, too much work. You simply make a mental note that Brother Chef will need to be moved "where the need is greater".
Time for "private study". You open the newspaper and see the latest Catholic priest sex / pedophilia scandal. You chuckle to yourself that "the great harlot" is "reaping what she sows". Make another mental note to include in the next Watchtower "how screwed up the Catholic church is". Sex scandal.... idiots, can't they keep that stuff quiet!
You figure you can use a cup of decaf before falling off to sleep. On your way to the coffee dispenser down in the lobby you decide to stop off on one of the dorm floors. You figure other Behelites might want to ask "the great teacher" (You) some questions on this week's bible study. After passing thru the many kiss asses and suck ups you see Brother StudyHard engrossed in reading. He has 8 books strewn about, open, underlined.... You ask him how the Watchtower reading is going and ask why he has so many open books. Brother StudyHard mentions he likes to read all the cross referenced quotes and materials. You point out to him that the reason you list those referenced materials is so that HE doesn't need to do that.
As you leave Brother StudyHard's room you make a mental note to yourself that Brother StudyHard obviously has too much time on his hands, therefore he should get more "privledges". On your way back to your room you notice the light hearted, good natured, laughter in the air. You wonder if the "organization" is becoming too "worldly". Don't they realize how much suffering this is "serving" God?
You retire to your room to fall asleep in your own bed. Maybe you'll have a "vision" on what we should print next week. Tough day INDEED!!!

GB member Dan Sydlik's Exile
by Black Man ini was talking to an ex-bethelite who was at the 'big house' in the late 60s and early 70s and he mentioned that daniel sydlik was exiled (asked to leave bethel) for a couple years when he married his wife (who at the time was very young and very much his junior).
according to this ex-bethelite, his marriage was somewhat controversial and they didn't want it to stumble anyone at the time, so he still stayed in the nyc area, but just not in bethel?
of course, this was when they had the corporation director format and before they officially adopted the governing body structure.

In My Opinion...
by OldSoul inin my opinion (for the sake of sixofnine and his propensity toward apoplexy):.
it seems to me that while there are many issues that we could address regarding the watchtower bible and tract society/governing body/congregation of jehovah's witnesses, there is one that stands out as uniquely given to ease of communication.
i would like to take this opportunity to state which issue and why, then invite open commentary.. the issue of the watchtower bible and tract society attaching itself to the un/dpi.. while i readily agree that this is minor in importance compared to matters like child molestation and failed prophecy, i see this as the easiest to bring up, the easiest to substantiate, and the easiest to demonstrate long-term gross error in.

Adel......
Please don't say his name. Maybe it's like BeetleJuice....if you say his name too many times he'll show up. I'd rather try to reason with a rabid wolverine than that Jacka**. -

I left the borg because of their flip flopping of dates and lack of evidence for 1914.
After stumbling across this site a month ago... I have learned about the blood flip flopping and the UN issue. I think the UN issue is tantamount to blood guiltiness.
How they justify this astounds me. Even if you believe them for their explanations of why they joined....it is PLAIN WRONG!!!
Why would the mouthpiece of God need to sit at the table of the Wild Beast for ANY reason. They won't allow disfellowshipped people to eat with Jo Ho's. They would DF someone who joined the YMCA. Why would God's people need to sully themselves in any way shape or form with this organization. It doesn't make any sense. Jo Ho's are not supposed to read any material not from the WTBS regarding religion. Nor go to rated R movies. Nor go to other's church services..... Why would it need information from the Satanic institution of the UN? If it's the Earthly agent of Satan how could any material it got from the UN have any believability or value!!! It's staggering to me!!! -

Watchtower study - so long and so boring
by Donkey Lipz ini remember going to sunday meetings...the public talks went by fast (sometimes).
but the watchtower study to me was so boring and not interesting at all.
it felt longer than the public talk.

I will say this...Blondie's current Watchtower posts are far more interesting than any I went to at the KH.
The reason I found the WT boring was there was nothing of any weight discussed. Just the same mealy mouthed, feel good crap week after week. Start eh Watchtower off with a problem. How bad the current world is. What all the other religions do. Moving into what Jo Ho's do right. To finally how awesome it is going to be in the New System. Song, Prayer. Blondie's posts make me get out my bible and THINK for crying out loud.
But to be fair 99% of elders are not good teachers. They haven't been given training in how to bring the material alive. There were a few that did a good job, but not many. I used to love lecture in college because there was usually an interchange of ideas. It was ok to ask a "tough" question to the professor. He knew the material inside and out and could shed light on his thoughts / teachings. And it was ok for the most part to disagree. Or if the professor didn't know he would simply say,,,, "Wow, I hadn't thought about that, let me do some research and get back to you next class." Can you imagine an elder doing that? Bring up 1914 and say "this doesn't make sense, I don't buy it, convince me". Why you'd be hauled off into the elders room in about 2 mins. flat.
The Watchtower I went to never had an exchange of ideas. It was a regurgitated, watered down, pile of vomit. -

A comment I heard tonight
by Generic Man intonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.
the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.
through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

Old Soul...
The phrase "Do not cast your pearls among swines" comes to mind. But hey, it's your time and effort and if you can keep your cool, more
power to you :)
I think I would rather try to convince my living room wall to move since I think it'd have a higher chance of success. -

Yeah, I'd allow that about the same time I'd trust a rabid wolverine to babysit my child.
