Two things are important here in my opinion....
1st - Your brother's mental health. He has probably supressed these feelings and emotions for years and years. It will feel better to open the "windows of the mind" and air out everything. It will feel very liberating. During this process he may discover if this early sexual tryst has hurt his ability to have various relationships. I know that many people have trust issues in relationships when they have been sexualized at an early age by an adult. Sad but true. So of utmost concern is what does he want to do?
2nd - This woman should not be trusted to be around other children. Her new appointment will only allow her greater access to young men and women. She should not be allowed to sexualize any more youngsters. While your brother may have wanted his encounter with her.....ask him if he thinks other 14 year old boys would know whether or not it is appropriate and if they should be sexualized that early by an adult.
Your mother is being a typical Dub.... "maybe Jehoba has forgiven her"? YEAH, WHAT ABOUT THE LAWS OF THE LAND? These sickos thrive on hiding their behaviors...light needs to be shined in their dark corner and exposed for who they are.

Child abuse or consenual relationship?
by pratt1 ina few years ago my brother - law admitted that at 14 he had a sexual relationship for 5 years with the wife of an elder in his congo.. he was at 19 dfed for an affair he had with a fellow student.. he never told any one about the affair with the married sister, but now 10 years later, this sister and her unsufferable husband are planning to become assistant co. .
my mother - law, who is still in the"lie" now knows about this affair and has made the statement that she has probable asked for forgiveness in her heart therefore the elders do not need to know of the affair.. my brother - law is going through his own issues and because of the way he has been treated ie.. shunned, basically disowned by most of his family, he wants to expose her and her husband who he believes knew about the affair.. i've recommended that he discuss this with his therapist and that he should think about why he feels the need to expose her now.
by the way this sister is 2 year younger than his mom.

that's part of my analogy.... they cannot see how close they really are....to them it seems like a chasm or an alternate reality. But just because that's their perseption doesn't mean it's the truth. Becuase each individual's perseptions are their truths.

WHO IS WORSE TO A JW, A PAEDOPHILE OR AN APOSTATE?
by diamondblue1974 inhearing about the child molester in glasgow who has been charged but not disfellowshipped did cause me to think a little;.
as an apostate you can be shunned without the need for a jc meeting irrespective of the fact that you might be repentent (not if you have any sense though); however the child molester mentioned hasnt been disfellowshipped!!?
?...if this is true doesnt it clearly highlight the wts f**cked up sense of morals?.

An Apostate....
Because as an apostate they feel you have committed the only unforgivable sin in the bible....blasphemy!!! A child molester can pray for forgiveness and not engage in his sick behavior.....but and apostate has committed the sin that cannot be recovered from ..... free minds are a dangerous thing to a religion based on fear, ignorance, and hatred. -

"I prayed for you"
by Scully inif you aren't a "believer", does it bother you when someone says "i'll pray for you" or "i prayed for you"?.
one of my colleagues is an incredibly kind and sweet person, and i know she says it because she believes she's doing something good on my behalf.
i always say "thank you for thinking of me", because i know that's the spirit she's intending to convey and that she cares about the situation i'm in vis-a-vis my jw relatives, but she knows i no longer believe in god (at least not in the sense that she does) - i wonder does she think that a few prayers are going to change my mind?

If someone said that to me and it bothered me.... I would simply reply back.... "Thank you for thinking of me, I have (or I will) prayed for you as well. Buddha has told me you needed the encouragement."
A couple of times of this Non=Christian entity and the behavior will stop.
If it's my patients ... then I let them do what they need to do. If they feel God has a personal vested interest in them recovering from surgery, then they will probably make a fuller recovery. But I have had a couple of instances where upon recovery they said that they prayed to God that he would work through my hands, and they knew they never had a problem with me as God was guiding my medical instruments and I was merely there in body to do God's biding. I then casually mention that since God really did the surgery and performed a miracle we could just go ahead and forgo any further pain meds since God was running the show. -

Anyone know anything about the Puritans?
by JW83 in.
hi, just wondering if any scholars out there can point me in the direction of good stuff on the puritans?
thanks, jayne

Well I'm sure the society has plenty of material on the Puritans...no need to go to the library. Why else would the FDS go to so much trouble to write about this.
I'm sure there's a conversation stopper helper...."When someone says's - I'm a Puritan" -

Q,
I wasn't speaking to the churchgoer's themselves, as the original question was about the relgion itself. That is what I was addressing. There are many people in both religions that I'm sure are good, loving people. I was speaking about the organization. But my comments about both religions being abusive still stands. I know you are an LDS and feel it is the answer for you and that's entirely ok. If it's where you feel closer to God so be it. I have been privy to many LDS'ers both in good standing and those outside the church. My personal belief is they are virtually one in the same in their spiritual control. The overall church "management" if you will.
Witnesses and LDS people tend to see vast diffferences between their religions. I like to use the analogy that really the JW's and the LDS are huddled up around a campfire. The JW's on one side (east side) of the campfire, the LDS's on the other (west side). When the LDS's are staring over the fire and past the JW's shoulders into the night sky they see a whole bunch of stars and constellations. Since LDS's are sitting on the West side staring across the JW to the east they see the eastern sky's stars. Likewise the JW's are staring into the western sky. From their perspectives they think their views (the night sky) are VASTLY different from the beliefs (opposing night sky) of the other relgion. But in reality they are merely standing 4 feet apart w/ a fire dividing them, looking at the same stars from different perspectives. So while they have different dogmas based on the same historical events of each other, they really in the end are not that much different from one another. -

some please make sense of this!
by sad and lonely inhi people!..i have a serious question.and i often wonder have anyone one earth thought this way too!
why when there's a funeral the preacher always say..."got called his son or daughter home.i went to a family funeral, not this relative lived a bad (with a capital bad) life.the family knew it.he was evil, hateful, treated people wrong, yet the preacher said he's gone to heaven...so i'm now thinking then what the hell!..is hell for.no matter what i always hear the preacher say that person is gone to heaven...i asked my brother-in-law,why don't anyone say ...this person is in hell(since hell is suppose to be a place for the sinners)are the preachers afraid to say that around the families?i'm confused!

At least most preachers don't make blanket statements like 6 billion hearts will quit beating. They don't put someone in hell because it is NOT their place, our place, or anyone else's place. They met their maker, it's up to him/her whether or not they had a good heart and deserve a heaven/nirvana/vallhala/paradise. How presumptious would it be to make a judgement. A funeral is for the living, mourning survivors not the dead. And no one I know would be so cruel. I have had experience with Witness J'Dub elders refusing to give a service for a DF'd one however...many, many times. Even though the family is mainly JW they still have the nerve to reserve judgement. How UGLY!

YESTERDAY'S "SPECIAL TALK"
by Mary inwell i couldn't bring myself to go to the "special talk" that was being held at copps colesium yesterday, as i was busy plucking my eyebrows and watching the grass grow
anyhoo, you know what this "special talk" consisted of?
experiences from brothers in foreign lands.
-
EvilForce
They are nothing more than letting the spiritually superior ones get some kind of mind masterbation from these stupid things. Then they run around relating their experience of how orgasmic the talk was. Ie, "I can't believe how good it was. These talks just get better and better. I feel so close to Jahoba now". It's like, give me what drugs you are taking before you go to these cause they are dull as dirt. I'd rather hump a houseplant.

Opiate of the masses.
Both religions are mentally and spiritually abusive. They are not inspired of God, nor preacher's of love. -

NOT ALLOWED TO RAPE....BUT
by tijkmo inwhen i was df i decided to use the time wisely and read the insight books which is how i came across this
the armies of pagan nations often raped the women of conquered cities, but not so the victorious soldiers of israel.
nor were they permitted for a month to marry a captive woman.

Well maybe what the WTS is trying to say is "You women have never had it so good. Look at what used happen. So shut up and be thankful for the table scraps we throw you."
Women will be able to become teaches in the Jo Ho organization I figure in about another 50 or so years....maybe 60.
