By turning my back on a selfish, pleasure-oriented life-style, I escaped the emptiness and unhappiness I see among my family members. Along with my husband, I have helped over a hundred people to learn the truth. These spiritual children are much more precious to me than any material riches."
Apparently she couldn't control herself if she had any money. Instead of simply having the money to do good with various causes, she chose to only help other people feel guilty, worthless, and judgemental. "Over a hundred people LEARN the truth"....not STILL IN the truth. -

SNEAKY Bastards!
by Jez inmy husband (non-jw) just called me from work, seems 2 people walked into his workplace, walks up to him and says, "can you put these in your coffee room?
" at the same time shoving 2 mags upside down into his hand.
he was busy, says, "sure" (thinking nothing of it).

Hasn't that ALWAYS been the strategy? I remember 20 years ago always only putting the Asleep magazine on top...they at least had some interesting covers on them that a householder might find of value. Even if the Asleep only contained "mind popcorn" and no real substance. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Asleep goes to once a month.....boooooring!

What has been your most spiritual experience?
by Qcmbr inok highly loaded question but i'd like to know!
i come from the viewpoint that we are spiritual beings having mortal experiences ergo we are having constant spiritual experience that maybe makes it seem commonplace..i'd be interested if anyone else has noticed spiritual events happening?
i'll shoot first: .

Would you share a winning lottery ticket???..help please
by morty inok, so here is the situation...... yesterday, i had bought a scratch ticket and i won 20.00 bucks on it...i was heading back to the store to cash it in but, not all of it...i wanted $17.00 in cash and in addition i wanted another ticket..as i was heading out the door, my brother asked to come with me to grab a few things at the store as well...this was not a problem....he got into the van and we headed off to the store...once we arrived to the store, i was still smoking my cigarette so i asked my brother to cash in my ticket for me and grab me another ticket and my $17.00 bucks while i wait in the car.
he said "sure, no problem"...at the same time, he asked me for a loan of $10.00 bucks.
i gave him the money with no questions asked.

Ok, he's not a pig..... he's a selfish, self-involved BASTARD.
This is a good lesson to learn. NEVER tell your family how much money you make, have, or in savings. This only invites greed.
I see it everyday w/ people suing people because of a small fender / bender. The sense of entitlement is overwhelming. -

AK - Vicodin is well tolerated... nausea is the most common side effect.
Also, whether or not it is generic or brand name makes no dif.
Vicodin, Norco, Lorcet, Lortab, etc....
are all the same...the active ingredient is hydrocodone which is an opoid along w/ acetep. (active ingredient in Tylenol)
They work on the pain receptors in the brain and spinal cord and the two pain relievers work better together than they do seperately. -

I like all their shows....
I think my favorite was yoga - "it's stretching people...not some spiritual b.s."...the 2nd was "the damn bible" -

I am scared of my future marriage
by jwbot ini am watching oprah (right now actually) and the topic hits close to home.
good timing actually, because yesterday i was thinking of talking with my fiance, mike about this very thing.
you see, mike really loves kids, and we plan to have them eventually, its a very important part in our relationship (to him, mostly).

I'm of the opinion that the human "heart" has a large amount of love to give. The more you fill it the more it can put out. Like training in the gym...the more work put on muscles the more they can do.
I think if you keep a balanced view you will be fine. My personal belief is this whole "superwoman" b.s. They make women feel guilty for working, so they have to overachieve at everything else. Also, I have to blame the baby boomer's to an extent, since they seem to play "win big or lose big" even when it' inappropriate. I see so many kids being shuttled off to this practise, that recital, this extracurricular activity..blah, blah. Kids will be just fine without all this extra crap.
I spend a fair amount of time in Latin America where society is probably where America / Europe's was in the mid 70's....very healthy kids...lot's of free time... 1/3 of the stress of our current kids.
