Putting an offer on a home........(law ?)

to make a long story short- last saturday, we put an offer down on a house.

then sunday and mon.

we did some research on mortgages and decided that we could get a better rate of interest if we waited till next spring to buy a home.

Love....you need to get an OFFICIAL denial letter. It sounds like "everyone" doesn't think your offer is valid so that's ok. But make sure you are free and clear first.

i just wanted to start this thread to vent out about how i'm being forced to go to the district assembly convention bullcrap twice all 3 days and to get a little advice on how to get out of it.

but mainly it would be interesting to know how other people got out of going to the meetings.

like acting sick, falling down and scraping your knee, different ways you got out of going to it.

Come on....you went once already. Course you may be able to do what I used to do.....show up for the "pre" assembly mingling. Go home or to hotel. Come back at lunch break. Go back home or hotel. Come back for closing prayer.

After all, you know what was said so it won't be weird if they bring up points from the DC.

More importantly....start standing up for your beliefs now. It never gets easier....but you have been to one assembly already.

Well technically yes you can be sued if you do not buy the house. Usually you forfeit the security deposit (earnest money) you put down. And usually you can get 1/2 of that back. Have they turned you bid down???
And not to be judgemental but if you put an offer in to buy the house....you should go through with it or compensate the homeowner for taking it off the market. And if it's a "low" offer and you like the house why don't you just buy it? Interest rates are like crystal balls....they could go down 1/2 or 1 point by next year or go up by 1/2 or 1 point.

it is interesting to note that of the total actual growth of all churches put together in the usa, 98.8% went to the roman catholic church (852,663 rcc vs 863,448 all ).

My numbers were NET growth....meaning births - deaths + immigraton.

So while they do replace the dying and disfellowshiped amongst their ranks....my figures were meant to show how much time is spent for each NET addition. Not "new worshipper". Make sense?

I did just read thru a bunch of his old posts....good god what a fruit loop. But even delusional fruit loops are welcome.

Glad you had a good time. One of America's weaknesses is that because it is so large and diverse many people never get a chance to spend time outside of the USA to get a proper perspective on how other's view the world. Hence part of the reason you see the various debates on politics here on JWD and other forums.

Actually Inquirer...It's good that he does. Then lurkers can see how silly their arguments look. How quickly their WTBS trained logic collapses like a house of cards upon a few simple questions / statements.

I'm sure Simon could tell us but I would guess that lurkers outnumber active posters here. Also, it's important because even if we all disagree at least we are FREE to disagree. You cannot say that in "the truth".

I enjoy people to challenge my thinking....my beliefs....it makes me examine them and understand them better. It only strengthens my own spirituality.

As long as everyone abides by the rules that this board has in place...everyone is welcome to post their views.

every once in a while, i'll drive thru the blocks of our old territory, remebering the friends, how we would share time in the ministry.

reminiscing about those i left.

every so often, i'll pull out the old photographs.
