God hates liars
by Lady Lee inquotes are from the 2005 wt cd red text is mine
the wts claims to be the sole source of god's truth on earth today.
truth is so important to them that they even use the term "truth" as a name for their teachings.

Atheists - Please answer this
by Nellie ini guess i lean more towards an agnostic point of view; though if asked, i will still identify myself as a christian.
why, i'm not really sure if i'm honest with myself.
it all boils down to how i feel about the earth and all of the inhabitants thereon.

Besty - Actually, it sounds like we are together on a lot of things. I've used the analogy that I feel like an alien who has just landed on this planet and doesn't know the language, layout or customs. Whereas I once believed that I knew it all (or a close proximity to it all), I now readily accept that I know NOTHING. I can't answer questions from a definitive point of view, and I'm not sure if I'll EVER feel comfortable thinking that I KNOW the answers to any of the big questions ever.
I'm ok with working and managing my own little world and as long as I live by the golden rule, whatever will be will be. In the interim, however, it is interesting to hear how other people think about things - hence my pondering question above.

I'm not sure what happened to my first response, but it's not here - hmm. Anyway, since then there have been more responses, so here goes:
- I make no claims to having any answers - therefore I have no argument to defend a fact.
- I find it interesting that people choose to accept or reject scientific theories as facts; when the fact is that a theory is something that cannot be proven or it would be fact.
- I'd be interested in hearing what the 3rd, 4th or 5th option are.
- Besty - I accept wholeheartedly that I haven't researched the subject; but I wasn't making an argument, I was stating a belief. Funny thing about beliefs, they aren't always subject to facts. Truth be told, ten years ago, I couldn't "wrap my head around the idea that the WBTS was corrupt." But look at me today!
- Spook says that (4) "At some further point you get to things which are currently unexplained and perhaps unexplainable. Here most people have a tendancy to make something up." That's what all of it sounds like to me.

Well, it depends on when they were married. If he was married before he became a witness, then yes. He would not be held accountable for her being an unbeliever - it's not like she's disfellowshipped.

LOL - Don't get me wrong . . . I may not be able to account for all of the action that my 1st floor gets (hey I do have teenagers after all), but the master bedroom is "fully equipped, completely outfitted, for every good work." (Wow, I can't remember how that scripture goes exactly!)
Time is ticking . . . .

How many TIMES can a JW be DF'd before the ELDERS dismiss them PERMANENTLY?
by african GB Member ini know a "sister" who has been df'd 10 times for adultery within a period of 15 years..... she is married....her hubby was an elder until she got df'd for the 1st time...he was then deleted....apparently the sister was not happy in the bedroom, he was always away doing cong duties, including jcs....... she keeps getting reinstated, and usually it does'nt take long for her (not the usual 6 months).....apparently she is a very good actress (she cries like a baby in the jcs )..... how many times can she keep getting df'd and reinstated like this until the elders say it is enough?.

The scriptures say you should forgive your brother 77 times - so she's got a long way to go!

LOL - Other than LouBelle - all of your ideas are pretty funny! I remember back when I used to do all of that kind of crazy stuff. Now here comes the part where I sound older than dirt! I should mention that we still have 3 kids at home (the 4th is away at college) . . . so Saran Wrap or lingerie in the kitchen doesn't work for us right now. Funny story, for valentine's day (before the stress had gotten to us) he bought chocolate covered strawberries and champagne into our bedroom for a little private picnic. The next day my sister called from out of state and my daughter overheard me telling her what he had gotten and that we had our own little "private party." My daughter's head whipped around, appalled and said, "Without me?" I almost wet myself with laughter! I looked at her, gasping for air and said, "If we'd invited you, we'd been arrested!" Good thing she had no idea what I meant!
