Two years?! How can you bear it?? I barely lasted three months. I don't want to be reinstated anymore because of exactly that kind of thing. It's emotional blackmail, poppet.

anyone writing about Dave Madzay obviously never new him!!!!!!!!!!!!
by donna4174 ini am writing because i am tired of people talking about rumours that they heard about dave madzay,he was the kindest , most intelligent man i ever new, yes he was df but only jehovah can judge him for things he did, no one else.he was an elder very high up in bethel who gave the most wonderful talks, helped many people,brought a lot of people into the truth and yet when he died not one jw attended his funeral.
how sad that a man who was so high up in bethel could be treated like this...........i was brought up in the truth until i was 15 , and turned away because of how dave was treated, even though dave had jehovah in his heart right up until his last breath and did everything he could do to be reinstated but sadly never was.........................i know i knew him

I knew Dave since I was just a kid, and grew up in his Cong. He was certainly a much loved and very carismatic person who despite his prominent position still had the "common touch". It was very sad to see his life take a tragic turn, and very tragic that so many ignored him in his final years. I remember one of the things he used to do was occassionally on a Sunday if it was a hot day, he would get up on the platform after the morning meeting and announce that their was no field service and we were going to have a picnic at the beach instead. He was clearly a very indiepndent thnker, and quite entrepeneurial, which is probably a part of why he ultimately did not fit into the borg as it became a place where everyone had to be the same and there was no place for inividuals. I rememeber going door to door with him one day when I was probably about 15 and talking about what I planned to do when I left school. I mentioned I would like to be a journalist but it would mean going to University (which was a big no no at the time), and he actually said it was a good choice and encouraged me to go for it.
Sounds like my kind of elder!

wedding invitation revoked
by jeanne40love ini have been associated with jw's since birth.
i raised my kids in the religion....thinking it was the only way.
recently, my daughter (who was baptized at 15 she is 24 now and has since stopped attending meetings, has been in a relationsip with a man and now has a newborn baby) was invited to a witness wedding and subsequently uninvited b/c she could possibly stumble the jw's who would be attending,since she has had a baby with a non witness and is not married.. .

i used to enjoy his talks at assemblies - he had something special about him.

Oh. Last I heard, disfellowshipped people don't qualify for a resurrection... Ah it doesn't matter, it's not a concept I can get my head around anyway. Or maybe you can help out with this, my confusion with resurrection:
- Person dies before Armageddon (whoever it is that qualifies)
- Jehovah records their physical traits and all knowledge and memories in the book of life so that he can resurrect them later
- During resurrection, Jehovah re-creates a copy of the person who died, and puts their knowlege and memories inside their mind, and they are resurrectedI don't see how this works out for the original person who dies - since it's the copy of them who gets to live in paradise.
