  Has anyone else seen the movie "Worlds Apart"?

  it's a danish film with subtitles about a 17-year-old born-in dub girl who falls in love with an unbeliever.. if you haven't seen it and would like to, i won't spoil the ending.

  but there is a scene where the girl is called in before the judicial committee and grilled about whether or not she and her boy friend had sex, whether and where they touched each other, whether she spent the night with him, etc.

  they had her in tears by the end of it.. scary, scary film.. .

  I haven't been able to find it anywhere, except on Youtube where somebody is posting scenes from it regularly. It's a stunning movie. Shame it didn't get an oscar nomination.

  At the very least, demand a marriage where you're honest about how his being a witness affects you and your lives together. He's not the husband that you married; where this is a problem, he has to know.

  they always dictate that everyone should look like clones of one another - the same.

  from early on i remember my elder dad in the late 1970's telling me as a teenager , " you are an elders son ; little brother jimmy over there looks up to you as an example.

  In my final years I took to bringing slippers to the book study (somebody's house), but they were chickens. The only elder on the planet with a sense of humour thought they were terrific, so they stayed.

  yep... i think that is the best way to describe where i am at in life right now.

  if you have read my past posts (mostly in the private section) you know some of my history as a life-long (now former) witness.. i have been away from the jw religion, for all intents and purposes, since dec. 06, though it was not until sept 07 that i stopped attending meetings.

  dear all,.

  i know this has been covered,but my pioneer sister said in a letter to me about what convinces her dubs have the truth,re the worldwide preaching of hope of life on a paradise earth, "who else does that?".

  now i know other religions teach a kingdom on earth,but she will say they don't preach that worldwide.. could you give me some ammo.

  Surviving the Economic Depression

  first, let's clear something up: for many people, it's no longer a question of recession - the depression is here and may last for many years!.

  this could be true if you live in many parts of europe, or africa or ...... michigan!

  let the 'experts' quibble over definitions, to me jobless rates of 15 to 20 % with little hope of change signals a depression where you live.. some suggestions:.

  as far as i know, the excellent danish film "to verdener" .

  ("worlds apart") is still not available for purchase on.

  dvd in the us.. (anyone know otherwise?).
