Wonderful! You should submit that to some newspapers and/or magazines like Readers Digest and see if it gets published, it would be awesome reading for people who don't know about the JWs.

After leaving the Faith, do you celebrate all of the Holidays?
by Quarterback ini could never understand how some who don't follow some of the moral restrictions in the jw faith, are strong against celebrating the .
religious holidays such as christmas, and easter etc.. do you celebrate the holidays knowing some of their origins?.

I was JW from 12 to 21 but parents are not JW.
I have tried other churches and enjoyed Unity & Science of Mind the best, as they are non judgemental accept all people etc and all religions. I consider myself a spiritual person and not a religious person. I do not believe Christ is our savior but I respect him and highly regard him as a highly evolved human along with Buddah, Ghandi, Mother Theresa etc.
My fiance is Native American and I have learned a lot from him. I honor and respect the Native American culture because they respected the earth, and were a very spiritual group of human beings.
I cannot stomach the belief that so-called loving God only accepts a small portion of the earth's population that are European Christian based beliefs, while ignoring or judging millions of other humans who have different cultures and beliefs based on their geographic location. There are millions of wonderful people out there who have better morals, are not hypocrites, and truly love their fellow mankind which is nothing like the JWs.
If we are to be judged by a higher being, it won't be based on what church building we attend.

How many of you haven't fared too well since your exit?
by i_drank_the_wine ini know that i've had a hard time piecing things back together after losing my wife and family a couple years ago and haven't really gotten the ball rolling to say the least.
just curious to hear if anyone else is in the same boat, or was in the same boat and how long it took them to get a "new life" figured out and going..

Sorry you are having a hard time. It took me a really long time to feel half way 'normal' but a lot of my issues were related to my f--ed up family that are not JW related. I have suffered from anxiety and severe depression since I was a small child and the JW religion just made all that worse.
I recommend some therapy so that you can work through the issues and not feel so isolated. Leaving the JWs is a very isolating feeling because of all the BS you have been fed all those years.

Another question for those who attended the "Mentally Diseased" Watchtower
by cantleave innugget and i are helping amelia prepare for her statement to the police tomorrow.
one of the possible objections is that the term "mentally diseased" is metaphorical.. when people answered on this paragraph did they say "people who leave are metally diseased" or did they say "they are like mentally diseased" people?.
if they said the former it would indicate that they did not take it metaphorically..
