  S'funny, I was chatting to my kid sister last night (who da'd recently) and the main thing I noticed was a lack of maturity especially when related to sexual relationships. She's not particularly grown up anyway despite being 21 but has a very stunted view of male/female relationships overall, not just in relation to sex but in the way she operates around men. It's almost as though the witnesses remove any chance of operating in a normal social environment so kids don't know how to relate when they break free. I know I wasn't so devoid of social skills but I do remember feeling awkward around people and finding it difficult to work out how to start conversations for quite some time after leaving the dubness.

  Common story, so many inside are incapable of relating to oposite sex naturally, no wonder there are so many weirdo in

  Do you feel as if your time spent in the WTS was sexually repressed?

  Yeah, very much so. But you've gotta admit their doctrine goes against all natural feelings that we have programmed in our minds and bodies. Which only creates a bunch of hypocrates who act as saints but harbour all sort of "immoral" feelings.

  How many Bible studies does it take before brainwashing sets in?

  i would like to know how the study starts...... what kind of information is given to the potential new convert when he / she starts studying with j.w.

  's., lesson to lesson.. what is taught in the first few "lessons".. when the brainwashing starts to be taught.

  how many lessons it takes to convince the student that the w.t.

  I don't think you get brain washed during your bible study that happens years latter during constant pounding of watchtower and book studies.
  As far as new ones are concern I'd say it is desire to belong something greater than oneself, i.e. desire for meaning of it all. When someone comes with explanation that you can relate to without engaging to many brain cells you're hooked.

  That's why after a number of years many realize that in all truth they know really nothing about the "truth" and start investigating. Which is something they should have done in the first place before jumping in. Would've saved many years. But as human we never learn it till we get burned.

(Wasn't really considering myself to be one of them anymore, so being "deleted" didn't get me too much) If it was you, why did you do it? (Marriage problems, disillusion, loneliness, something else...)
