by compound complex insince i'm only now getting back to you since christmas due to pc-related problems, i'm hoping you had a wonderful holiday.. given my profession and connections to the art and music world, i receive many invitations to concerts, plays and recitals.
i received a ticket to a christmas concert that included many complex and superbly executed holiday-oriented musical pieces.
the audience was invited to sing "o come all ye faithful.

Good for you. One thing I did when a jw was stand up for the National Anthem, and Pledge of Allegiance. Placing my hand over my heart, yet never reciting the words. Never saw the urgent need to make a skeptical of myself. Being young and dumb already did that enough.......no need for add ons. ...

Sounds like a bogus story,10 years, really? However wt made the point. There have been a few members that have gone back for family, not because they suddenly believed again and wanted to serve jehovah. What does that say about df?
It's not done to get you back to jehovah, it's done to get you back, period. Higher the number of r&f, bigger the boasting wt can do.

What was life like for you as a JW teenager?

my experinace is that the jw teenagers in the cong were some of the bitchyist backstabbing arse holes i'll ever meet.. it was unheard of for us to engage in group "wholesome activity" as show in the wt's illistrations.
the competition amongst the girls for the handsome, sane and elders sons were cut throat.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's, I think the society was different back then. We had lots of picknicks, the brothers got togehter every week and played baseball, football and basketball. The friends went sled riding, tobaganing and skiing together....(jaguarbass)......it was differentthen....
I feel like I must have lived in the Twilight Zone. Myself, Terry, Johnny ( Terry's best friend ) and about 15 others roamed two circuits like a band of gypsies. That's not counting brothers and some sisters from other congregations that did the same thing. We always visited other kh, or were visited in turn. As long as I followed my dad's rule of thumb....never miss a meeting and rattle doors every weekend, came and went as I pleased, even had worldly friends. I'm not saying we didn't have some "hard nosed" Congregation Servants and Book Study conductors. But, you really had to do something stupid to be on the radar.
Maybe it had to do with the part of the country we all lived in....Dallas/Ft. Worth....I remember when two California sisters moved into our kh, oooohhhh the stories they told. Guess we were lucky.

Had something funny was going to say using a play on words. Ah well, that's what happens when one becomes travitized. Watch Fox News "The Five at Five". Wont change your stance, but do think you'll enjoy the show. Bob Beckle is great as the loyal opposition.
