i was reading this thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/220730/1/had-my-jc-today-oh-sugar, and morbidzbaby mentioned their husband confessed to uncleaness because he did not feel he was getting blessed by jehovah.
however, blessings did not increase after the confession.. it made me wonder about the whole idea of confessing so that you do not loose jehovah's blessing.
when i was in bethel i confessed about a couple of menial things.
No, things between myself and jw's only got worse. Guess I had to go through the process in order to wake up to the unloving, vindictive, cold hearted spirituality of the wtbts.
watchtower theology is propped up by proof texts.. if the texts are inspired, the watchtower claims it is empowered to reveal the meaning.. but--consider how flimsy, inauthentic and unprovable the foundation of this teaching really is.. .
consider the difference (if any) in meaning between these two renderings.. .
1.all scripture is inspired by god and useful for teaching, reproving and setting things straight.. .

It amazes me how many people go to Seminary, Bible College then go on to pastor church's, 80% of those institutions are brutally honest in what they teach.
OK...over being pissed....Homo Sapiens [us, humans, "wise man" ] are animals. A dog, horse, rhino, donkey, so forth, are animals as well. All animals have souls and spirits. If you believe [ that being the key word ] humans at death go to heaven, then it follows that all animals have a heaven as well.
However, that pesky little word believe is where the wheels fall off. A seemingly silly question about "Doggy Heaven" drives us deeper and deeper into how we know [ epistemology ] and a view that there is no rational way to justify ones beliefs: faith alone is necessary, nothing else [ fideism ] Faith then has lead us into: If this is true ( humans ), then how much more is that true ( Doggy Heaven ) or, a fortiori. Terry has asked a philosophical question, that will become circular in it's reasoning.
So, have fun. It's a great question and splendid exercise in logic.

When I was a kid there might, might have been a picture the size of a postage stamp along with a 5 line paragraph buried in the sports section of the Ft, Worth Star-Telegram.
Now we got doctors, lawyers, judges, politicos and entertainment people shoving bucket after bucket of so called news under our noses. from dusk till dawn. I'm surprised to have any brain cells left. Blinded by wave after wave, after wave of Iowa and New Hampshire poles I was ready to blow my brains out.
Know what's funny? When I was a jw didn't watch any news shows, none. Parade Magazine, comics and the TV guide were my Sunday paper.
since i'm only now getting back to you since christmas due to pc-related problems, i'm hoping you had a wonderful holiday.. given my profession and connections to the art and music world, i receive many invitations to concerts, plays and recitals.
i received a ticket to a christmas concert that included many complex and superbly executed holiday-oriented musical pieces.
the audience was invited to sing "o come all ye faithful.
