I think many of us get jolted like that. As a JW we, for the most part, lived in a seperate world where everything was filtered through the WT, then, for whatever reson, we leave. That's when the rubber hits the road. Out there in that evil, demon infested, god forsaken world dewll people that have, and show more concrene, unconditional love and plain old downright sympathy for us than was ever shown by anyone of Jehovah's chosen people. It's a wonder most of us didn't stroke out.

praying for mass destruction and death
by Cognitive_Dissident inso i was writing a paper the other day, specifically about the skewed world view that i had had as a witness, and i typed the following - .
pain, misery, strife, these were all things that used to prove to me that jehovah's witnesses were correct in their assessment of a dying world which was soon to be liberated/obliterated by the hand of god.
this "liberation" was something that i desperately longed for.

Describe your first thoughts upon hearing the 1914 generation 'new light'
by kid-A in.
we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.
9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

Another one bits the dust...and it didn't make one iota of difference. The WTS takes a lickin and keeps on tickin...I suspect that is what drew my father back in, so called new light. dad was a sucker for that kind of stuff...

TESTING the results of two different ways of thinking
by Terry inmankind has had a pretty good track record of tackling the problems of life on earth.
different folks have tried different strokes.
you might say that life has been the crucible for testing an idea as to efficacy and the legacy of any idea is how well it worked.. .

I know this may sound silly but the only thing I'm curious about is is that Terry's real picture?
Very much so....

Dam keyboard, wants to post before I can type a word, thus the edit.....
Someone said they haven't seen Terry help anyone in a crisis...Jeffro...
Yeah J that was said. Terry is being modest. What he doesn't do is blow the horn and beat the drum about it. Tell you one thing reading JWD for six months would be equal to a four year college degree. Top that "Awake!".

"I believe in one God and no more, and I hope for happiness beyond this life." Thomas Paine
That's the one...my memory, it grows dim with each passing year...

You( and others )have done well expressing the faith of your heart. In the end that's all that matters. I like what Thomas Payne said the gist of which is: I believe in one God and one God only, no other...When I die God will do with me what he wills...Too bad some cannot see the simplicty of God. I suppose if they did not live a convuluded life they would have no life at all.
