Has Anyone Seen "Prometheus"?
by Low-Key Lysmith ini loved it!
but then, it went right along with my own personal beliefs concerning mankind's origins, so i'm a little biased.. wondering what a religious person's thoughts would be?.

Forget religious persons. Did you ever wonder what a "scientific" person would think? In my case: ehhhhhh....
Chariots of the Gods nonsense again. -

Any S-F fans out there?
Phillip Jose Farmer wrote a fantastic series of books called "Riverworld". Anyone that ever lived on earth is resurrected simultaneously on a new planet. The storyline features many famous people from Earth history. The main protagonists include Sir Richard Burton (the Victorian explorer of Africa), Alice Liddell Hargreaves (the "real" Alice from "Alice in Wonderland"), Samuel Clemens (or Mark Twain, if you will), Cyrano de Bergerac, and a Neanderthal named Kazz.
A few years after Farmer stopped writing the series, a book was published, titled "Tales of Riverworld". It was an anthology of stories, written by other authors, that take place on this world. One story featured a scenario where various Rock and Roll legends join together in an enclave that entertains visitors with concerts. The characters in the story were John Lennon, Keith Moon, and Jim Morrison. Oh, and Elvis (in a background role). Pretty good story, a cut above fanfic.
I am surprised that more JW's never read this series. Once you push aside the things like aliens, violence, slavery, dreamgum and marijuana, it's very much the world that I always imagined the "new world" (tm) to be.

I think the Doctor will protect humanity far better that God
by Star tiger inmy wife has converted me into the cult of dr who, and he seems to be much more friendly to humanity, even though he was complicite in the destruction of his home planet gallifray, lol, a non judgemental superior being that cares for lesser life forms such as ourselves.. last saturday me, the wife and kids were total enamoured by the love and friendship of geeks, their was no judgement, homosexual or racial, things were really nice, my three kids sat for five hours, with breaks, and all were utterly enthralled by the proceedings, and as previously only a driver to these events i have been totally converted into the cult!.
by the way there are no contrary ways to behave against our natural humanity, everyone is equal, what a lovely place to be!.
looking at my kids at the time the were totally enchanted by the proceedings, not like when i remember my upbringing with the boring and utterly pointless conventions!

You know, reading about the incidents of early JW's, the tarring and feathering, the arrests, the executions in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Unions, etc: if they could only have looked forward in time to see the sorry organization it has become, with the child molestation cases, the paranoia, the money grubbing, the downright ignorance of the majority of the members today, how hard would they have fought for their cause then?

Imagine the guilt I felt, in my Senior year of High School, when I won the American Legion award for Good Citizenship. Just on general principles, I am not too fond of that group anyway....
