jgnat, thanks for writing! Our son knows how we feel about the WTS. We are what they call "oposers". We've tried to talk sense into him in a loving way. But, we feel he thinks if he doesn't join, he'll lose his wife. I think the KH has been putting a lot of pressure on HER to get him to join. We sent him a Christmas card telling him how much he'll be missed at Christmastime and that we'll be thinking of him.
It's very heartbreaking for us......

You're kidding, aren't you? I'm not a JW, but our son's wife has been pushing him to join for years now, and she's finally gotten him brainwashed into it. They really don't ask questions like that, do they??

I understand what you're saying completely and agree. Fortunately, our son is still open to reason. He himself admitted that he was still kind of "on the fence". But, the Witnesses at the KH seem to be doing a real good job of brainwashing. He defends them and robotically (robotically?) recites answers that he is being taught.
I believe my best weapon is prayer.........and I plan to do A LOT of it.

he is slowly being sucked into this org., and we are heart sick about it.
from what we understand, he has to purge his life of all these "horrible" things (like birthday celebrations, etc.
