  why, what made you join JWs?

  i would like some brief stories of people saying the reasons they joined jw organisation.

  where you already in another church, were you disillusioned, were you biblically illiterate?

  and if it is possible, please let me know where you come from, hoping you're not all from usa.

  i don't know about anyone else, but in my congregation witnesses had manipulative techniques (like any other organized religion) in getting people to study. it's almost like you really don't know what you're up against until you are baptized.

  he stated he represented a large group of anointed from within the organization and they wanted to send me a letter.

  the anointed remnant.

  when i was a jw my boyfriend of 7 yrs. wasn't...know what he said to me?..."i was talking to eddie (his college romt. who was a jw) and he gave me some books to read. i noticed everything you guys say comes straight out of those books when you're challenged on a topic? if you believe in the religion so much how come you can't speak from the heart, instead you speak from a book."

  My father was a controlling jackass that made the whole family start studying. I was into for a little while because I was eight and didn't care. I was baptized at 11 (little sister following big sister). Soon after being baptized I realized I opposed almost everything I was taught....so I dissasociated myself at 17 as soon as I left my house. ...
  oh yeah, did I mention the year I was baptized my dad was disfellowshipped? What a waste!
