calling all young single men
by devinsmom inwew, well my divorce is finally...final, as of today and what a long hard road it has been, and unfortunatly more hardships are to come, since we have a child together.
my ex tried to delay it just yesterday by faxing a sloppy handwritten note to the judge, to tell him he couldnt make it because he doesnt have a license,(suspended for dwi) and hasnt attended any of the hearings at all.
he owes me over $5,000 for child support (deadbeat dad).

Wow! You sound like a GREAT girl.
How 'bout going out in Field Service so that we can get to know each other better?
I'm free Saturday morning.

Thanks for your email reply.
We have very similar stories. And I remember, as a family (Mom & 5 kids), reading the Malawi experiences and crying our eyes out. Frankly, of all the doctrinal and political stuff, that issue hits me the hardest.
Anyways, I am encouraged by the fact that although this board has a few hot-heads, overall everyone is pretty sincere and attempting to do the 'right' thing. It's good to see that the same good qualities that made us all want to be JWs are still our guiding force.
Best wishes & hopefully we will stay in touch as we all continue our search for the TRUTH.

If there's some good in the Watchtower, why leave it?
by AlmostAtheist inthe post about crisis of conscience in which the poster said he knows there's some bad in the watchtower (as brought out in coc), but there's some good in it too got me to wondering about people that stay for the good in it.. the united states makes some decisions as a country that i don't agree with, perhaps even object strongly to.
but i don't disavow my citizenship.
it's mostly a good place to live, so i stay.. if you want to live in a way that utterly conflicts with the watchtower -- homosexual, multiple sex partners, smoking, whatever -- then you have reason to leave.

I tend to agree with Almost.
You guys would have had to have pretty much the same reaction to JC and his 12.
In fact, almost any of the bible's major characters had very serious flaws by the standards of this site.
For some reason, God likes to use 'losers' to get His will accomplished.

R U serious?
If you just want the applause of your peers, you now have succeeded.
As far as the gb actually reading this? GET REAL!
Keep in mind that the GB does NOT DF anyone! They do NOT directly appoint anyone!
There are so many levels that this will have to filter through before getting to an actual gb member.
I hate to burst your bubble, but QUIT your apostate DREAMING! You have a much better chance at being the NEXT POPE!
Also, you may want to check your spelling and grammar before sending to anybody else.

( u wrote:) by the way...one of the things that disgusted me the most was how Franz had devoted his entire life to the WTS, but then got booted out, and was forced to fend for himself financially.
Although, I can understand your disgust, as an ex-bethelite, we have already gotten over that hurdle.
One of the last things they tell you on the way (honorable or dishonorable discharge) is NOT to use WTS as a reference on your resume.

I actually stopped at a 'christian' bookstore last night to see if they had it.
No, but could order it. (Booyah! Nice block by the angels!)
Besides, being nervous that someone might recognize my car outside, (why can't they sell these things in nudie bars, at least I can explain what I was doing in there?!?!?) I felt guilty for attempting to be deceptive. Happily the store clerk did not ask if I was a JW (I was prepared to lie like Peter after the lord's supper!)
Nonetheless, if I get enough nerve (or curiosity) today, I will try a local library or barnes & noble.
