If WTS was a person ...

while recently researching some info on personal relationships, i realized that if wts was a person, being a jw would be clearly classified as an abusive relationship.

healthy relationship- this is a good dating relationship for now.

both are feeling good about self, feel good individually whether in a relationship or not shared interests, shared power and decision making, shared values

i distinctly remember being an impressionable young child among a stadium full of persons, who should have known better, as we applauded the boastings of one of our fellow idiots suckers privileged, that she was ?available after armageddon?.

although, i have also been ?taken advantage?

of, i realize that wts only took what i willingly gave, my youth, opportunity for education, etc..

Is it better to just LEAVE or FIGHT?

although, i have not been victim to the same level of damage from the wts as many of you on this site, i have noticed that it is very difficult to fight such a large entity with deep pockets and passionate (though misled) supporters.. .

since i am still in the very early stages of leaving/fading, i wonder:.

i have already spent the vast majority of my life sacrificially serving the interests of this org.

i have felt that this site is therapeutic for me, in that i can give voice to feelings that i have heretofore had to keep inside.

i also enjoy reading other's stories and learning that i am not alone.

although, many of us feel that we have wasted our lives on wt, there may also be a very positive side.

this is one of those 'which came first' kinda questions:.

did wts exploit personality characteristics (strengths or weaknesses) that already existed in you?.

did your personality eventually disintegrate into the familiar jw mold?.

Excellent WT logic

i just love the logic that was applied in last week's wt study, paragraph 3:only a god of infinite wisdom could be responsible for the miraculous formation of a new living human.

for thousands of years, reasoning people have credited the formation of a child inside its mother's womb to the grand creator.

who am i to go against thousands of years of reasoning people?

i find it interesting that the chickens have come home to roost for wts.. just as they have allowed no dignified way to exit the org, without disgrace, there seems to be no way for them to gracefully apologize for past (errors???).

just think of the recent mass exodus of faithful that has come about with each major doctrine change.

so many have been ruined by devoting their lives to the gb, that even if there was a sincere effort to correct things, i believe that the vast majority of the current membership would just revolt.. it's just a matter of time before the entire house of cards comes tumbling down.. so, whaddya think?.
