Thanks for the link bikerchic. I just found out I've been messing up that Toto song all this time. I thought it was, "I miss the rains down in Africa."

Best Service Meeting Item - ever !
by BluesBrother inthe listeners thread about service meetings got me to think, ok , so what was the best service meeting item you ever heard?
we all know and remember the bad ones, but with all our collective years of seat warming on a thurs/fri night, there must have been some good ones.. i nominate the item a few years ago on the dangers of the internet.
it made it sound so exciting that i went off down the public library to find out how to use this new invention - the rest is history ....

I almost forgot...I was in the audience at a meeting, and the part was on..well, I can't remember exactly what it was on but it was something to do with preaching. The question in the first paragraph was, "Where do people turn for help?" Meaning "worldly" people, and the answer was supposed to be self-help books, therapists, and things of that nature.
Well, there was this brother in the hall who was a little "off" and he did not have his KM with him that day. So the brother giving the part calls on him of course. And the "off" brother answered,
"They engage in endless sexual activity."
Silence from the crowd. Not just any kind of sex, but ENDLESS sex. Well, we know where his mind was!

Did you meet any con artist types there?
by LongHairGal init seemed to me that there were a number of con artist types of personalities i came across during my years there.
i am not referring to people who were actually doing anything illegal.
what i am referring to are people who were very adept at getting things out of other people.

There was this Bethelite who stole from us. He got kicked out of Bethel for stealing but we never got our stuff back.

Brooke Lynn is pretty, and Brooklyn is kinda cute. Could be due to the fact that David and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham named their oldest son Brooklyn after the place where he was conceived. (Gross!)

Haha! I got that e-mail too when I was still in. We definitely had a Skittle at our convention. As a matter of fact, he used to pass out candy. Ahh...the good ol' days...NOT!

Speaking of music,,,,,what "nerdy" singer do you secretly adore?
by LyinEyes ini didnt know what other word to use but nerdy,, but you will get the picture when i tell you a couple of my favorites.
or maybe they are not so much "nerdy" as they are just off the beaten path singers,,maybe even a bit odd.

I own every 'N Sync album except for the Christmas one.
Aside from that, I do also like the Bee Gees and Barry Manilow.

Annie is it this (I do love Tim McGraw):
Don't Take The Girl--Tim McGraw
Johnny's daddy was taking him fishing
when he was eight years old.
a little girl came through the front gate
holding a fishing pole
his dad looked down and smiled
said we can't leave her behind
son I know you don't want her to go
but someday you'll change your mind
and Johnny said
take Jimmy Johnson
take Tommy Thompson
take my best friend Bo-
take anybody that you want as
long as she don't go
take any boy in the world
daddy please- don't take the girl
Same old boy
same sweet girl
ten years down the road
he held her tight and kissed her lips
in front of the picture show
Stranger came and pulled a gun
grabbed her by the arm
said if you do what I tell you to do
there won't be any harm
and Johnny said
take my money
take my wallet
take my credit cards
here's the watch that my grandpa gave me
here's the keys to my car
mister give it a whirl
but please-don't take the girlSame old boy
same sweet girl
five years down the road
there's gonna be a little one
and she says it's time to go
docter says the baby's fine
but you'll have to leave
cause his momma's fading fast
and Johnny hit his knees
and there he prayed
take the very breath you gave me
take the heart from my chest
I'll gladly take her place
if you'll let me
make this my last request
take me out of this world
God please-don't take the girl
Johnny's daddy was taking him fishing
when he was eight years old. -

I USED to like ABBA until my co-worker played their Greatest Hits album repeatedly, hour after hour, day after day...
I am probably the only 22-year old who knows all the words to "Voulez-Vous".
