That is so cute! I'll bet he was precious. Your son is halfway between my older sister and brother's ages. (1974 and 1978, respectively)

Did you know of anyone that appeared in the publications that left the org?
by truthseeker inthere was a rumour years ago that the couple that appeared on the brochure, "does god really care about us?
", left the truth, and that is why the cover changed.. also, somewhere on an xjw site, is the testimony of a brother who appeared in a life story in the wt, but has now left the organization.. do you know of anyone appearing in the mags that has left the truth?

The cover changed? I didn't even notice.
I have been in magazines. There's one of me in a yellow turtleneck praying. Something about youths and the Bible or something like that. I already forgot what it was for. I think it was probably 3 years ago, maybe a little more. I am certain I was pioneering at the time. Went to Patterson for the shoot. I also was in that "Young People Ask: How Can I Make True Friends?" video. But I was in the background, blink and you'll miss me.

We Have Wonderful People Here
by Sparkplug ini have to tell a story.. yesterday i begged my boss to let me leave work to go to reunion arena and try to find a child or a mom and child to take in.
then i bugged the heck out of six of nine to go with me because i was not sure what i was getting into and did not want to go alone...though i would have.. so we went to the store and bought 100 dollars of items.
well i went over budget and six paid another 100 for the rest of the items.

Wow, this is beautiful. That brought tears to my eyes. I'm speechless. You really went the extra mile to personally help who you could.

Oh, yes, Anastasia is quite lovely as well. I'm not sure if I mentioned the background on my name. I was an unexpected arrival, and my mother for some reason thought that she was going to have a boy. So she was going to name me Jared Ryan. When I was born, she had no clue what to do, and the nurses and doctors were pressuring her to name me. So she gave me this name, which she didn't even know how to spell. It's an ethnic name, and there are varied spellings. So she gave it her best guess, and guess what? People rarely pronounce it right by looking at it. That's why I have my screen name...people always call me "Chia" or "Chia Pet". Thanks Mom.

I don't like my first name at all. I would change it to something like Isabelle or Olivia, something dramatic, glamourous and beautiful.

"and he had used a light bulb as a sex toy and it had broke inside her."
Ouch! Doesn't sound pretty at all. Let's see...there was once this sister with some issues who had an especially trying day who collapsed in the Kingdom Hall parking lot, sobbing and crying. This was before one of my talks, I was a little girl, and my mom felt torn between helping me with the talk and helping this woman.
There was once a brother who came into the KH smoking a cigarette and screaming and cursing at the brothers when they tried to get him to put it out.
And of course there was the brother who walked back from the bathroom during WT study and let out two of the loudest farts I have ever heard in my life. The entire congregation heard it, and it was all the conductor could do to keep from laughing.
All I can think of for now. -

Update: New Governing Body Pics - Have fun!
by Neo inthe twelve men who exert control over the lives of 6,000,000 people and who could put a stop to all the harm caused to families if they wanted to:
as i said in another thread, most of them started partaking the emblems after 1935. that's a clear sign that there's a corrosion of the "remnant" doctrine, because now most of the governing body are considered "replacements" of 'anointed ones who have fallen away'.
i finally found out the new gb members' ages.

I have to say, Brothers Lett and Herd were in my congregation and I liked them very much. They were nice men. Brother Herd always cracked jokes, he was really funny. He was always very no-nonsense. I remember I was up on stage for a part with this brother, and the brother went overtime. Brother Herd came right up on stage while the guy was talking and ended it right there. It's hilarious thinking back on it.
Brother Lett had these animated facial expressions and the way he gave talks was very animated. You couldn't help but get into whatever he was talking about. It wasn't phony at all, at least not to me.
I just feel kinda bad for them, actually. I wonder if deep down, they're like me, or if at one point they were like me, but were so afraid of moving on with their lives at this late stage.
