Yes, they are. One that's been around for thousands and thousands of years.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe people have always wanted tattoos, but because they were so looked down upon in society, they never dared to get one. I'm sure that's what a lot of people were saying when women started wearing pants...''Crazy fashion! It'll stop in a few years.''

How can you say it's just a fashion craze when the Japanese have been doing it since around 297 AD. The Samoans were doing it when they were discovered back in the 1700's. And guess what....THEY'RE ALL STILL DOING IT!

whenever i would get a compliment from someone, especially males, she would always find someway to turn right around and insult me in front of everyone.

we were at dinner one time with the co and he told me that i was a very beautiful young lady.

Whenever I would get a compliment from someone, especially males, she would always find someway to turn right around and insult me in front of everyone. We were at dinner one time with the CO and he told me that I was a very beautiful young lady. So then my mother grabs my arms and says, ''If we could only do something about her little monkey arms.''

See, my arms have no more hair on them than anyone else, but I'm Mexican, so it's a lot darker and more noticable. I'm over it now, but when I was younger, I was extremely embarassed by it. And then my mother goes and does something like that at a table full of people! I felt like my face was on fire. I just wanted to crawl under the table and die! I think everyone was embarassed, noone really said anything.

Even growing up, she tried to dress me in the frumpiest granny clothes she could. My sisters finally intervened when I was 14 and bought me a brand new wardrobe.

Does the majority of Jdub mother's tend to be jealous towards their daughters? Or just mine?

I hate to single anyone out as an example of why not to do something, but your "Samurai" is really poorly done.
His armor is completely wrong from helmet to shin-guards and his armaments bear no resemblance to anything ever used in feudal Japan.
The katana-to has a curve almost resembling Damascus armament and the wakizashi is more of tanto length. It also has an incorrect shape. Anyone who practices Iai-to (or has ever seen the Tom Cruise flick) will notice the errors.
This is the problem with tats. He's got one that was badly done (at least in terms of artistic details and isn't that the whole point?) and now has to literally live with it.
Again sorry for pointing you out, but maybe it can help someone else.

Wow Luke! Now everyone will point and laugh at your historically incorrect tattoo.

Amos, why don't you draw a historically correct samurai for Luke, that way when he gets his other one done, it won't be such a mortifying experience.

For someone who apparently despises tattoos (such as you do) to judge the ''artistic detail'' of a tattoo.....that's kind of like someone who hates jazz doing a commentary on Billie Holiday. But this is America, land of the free...and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

As someone who has spent many hours getting tattooed, seeing people get tattooed, and just looking at tattoos...I think it's a wonderful piece. Very detailed and very beautiful....but that's just my opinion.

Well guess what. Im 39, have 3 kids, im not "all bloated and fat", and got my "tramp stamp" as you call it a year ago. I wear my 18 year old daughters "low rider" jeans so everyone can see it!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a rational person. I am tolerant.

I don't think becoming outraged and disturbed when seeing someone with a tattoo qualifies you as either rational or tolerant. When tolerant people see things they don't necessarily agree with, they accept that they can't control everything and LET IT GO.

I am forced to put up with it but I am outraged.

Then why don't you move to Afghanistan. I'm sure tattoos are among the many things outlawed over there....like ummm....let's see....FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION?

Here is my point about the tlc show. THey shove the show in you face without a warning. After you see those guys with so many tatooos. It is too late you saw it. The damage is done.

Yeah I know what you mean. The just start the show at random points in the day. Too bad there's not anything like a TV GUIDE that tells you when it will be on. Dude, if your damaged by a reality show...you need professional help.

I just avoid the tlc channel altogether now.

So what? Do you have major control issues in your life? Are you the kind of guy who pops a hernia if you find a piece of lint on your perfectly swept floor? Because that's the only reason I can imagine why you would be like this. You don't like tattoos, and it pisses you off that you can't control the world and the people in it. So you channel all your energy on this one little thing until it blows up into some psychotic obsession. I mean, when you start having FLASHBACKS from a tv show...there are other way more major issues at work here. You seriously need to reavaluate your life and accept the fact that yes, you can control YOUR life...but not anyone else's. And just let it go. Get out and live a little man! If you don't calm down, you might pop an artery or something. damn...
