  What do YOU say to people in hopeless situations?

  sometimes you have a friend that falls on hard times.

  their health fails, they lose their jobs, they spend their last dollar -- whatever.

  they don't have anything good on the horizon.

  OMG, I have to remember that one!! Laughter really does help even in the most dire situations and it does brighten ones perspective on lots of things.

  the jws have joined an interfaith-political organization in the phillippines.

  did they do this to secure more religious rights?

  the jws are instead helping to assure that government programs are kept going.. according to barredo, to facilitate and successfully implement the various activities under the gpk and swm programs, the council has chosen rev.

  I knew of several suicide incidents of people in the org but only one by an exJW which is surprising since Im from a small populated area. There is no telling what the percentages of suicides would be if all the JWs on antidepressants quit taking them.

  received the nov 06 awake today and this article caught my attention.

  it is about masturbation and the evils of it.

  in a nutshell try to stop and think of other things deal with your guilt but don't let it overwhelm you.

  reading another thread reminded me of this time long ago before i was ever baptized.

  during a book study the conductor (who was the p.o.

  ) made a comment about being out in the field service and using the bible.

  If he had actually challenged me with a question without a Watchtower, Awake or Reasoning book I would've been lost.

  I think a lot of us who were dubs can relate to that, always needing those publications to explain what we believed instead of the bible. So much for "making the truth our own" huh, LOL

  Yeah, and my retirement is near too, only about 32 years and I will be 70 and hopefully will be able to take a break from putting in 40 hours a week, if I dont fall over dead before it comes.

  How can people stomach hearing that year after year after year. They must have it mentally tuned out.
