by Elsewhere inhttp://www.cnn.com/2005/world/europe/04/22/text.iq/index.htmle-mails 'hurt iq more than pot'.
london, england -- workers distracted by phone calls, e-mails and text messages suffer a greater loss of iq than a person smoking marijuana, a british study shows.. the constant interruptions reduce productivity and leave people feeling tired and lethargic, according to a survey carried out by tns research and commissioned by hewlett packard.. the survey of 1,100 britons showed:.
almost two out three people check their electronic messages out of office hours and when on holiday .

Im sure we all have stories we could tell, lol. This message board has been very therapeutic for me. I only wish I had come across it some years earlier.

U2, Denver... Last night...
by upside/down inwow, what a great band- u2!.
they played to a packed house and did an awesome job.
they played a lot of the less "pop" songs ie.bullet the blue sky.

wow, I haven't listened listened to U2 in a while; listened to them quite a bit when I was out of the organization for a while in college (Rattle and Humm tape (too poor at the time for a CD player) in the late 80s. Man, time flies when you get older.

Cool pics Rich. I have quite a few pics I taken the times I went to Bethel back in '94 and '95 I will share sometime when I decide to go through all the junk I have in storage. I took some pics but a lot. I thought why bother with all the postcards they have, lol. I also took some cool ones of Stanley Theatre. Did you go there?

As JWs, ever met any annointed ?
by greendawn inin your time as jws did you ever meet any of the annointed?
did they have good christian personalities and what did they think of the wts and its governing body ?
i met one and he was very unhappy with the way the gb treated him and generally the way they run this society, he told me he wrote them two letters containing a long list of complaints with full scriptural support but he was ignored, first letter got a reply amounting to "no need to write to us" the second one no reply at all.

how can you stay?
by zaphod in.
speaking as someone who believed it all right up until about a year after i was df'd i just cannot understand the reasoning of people who don't go out on field service, don't go to meetings, don't participate or believe and still stay in the organisation.. i know that it is hard to leave, it's made to be hard, but some of the postings on this site make me think that it must be harder still living a lie and keeping up the pretense.. if you don't believe, why would you want to conform to all the petty rules and subject yourself to men that you don't believe have any authority.. i really do hope that as soon as possible you can all take a deep breath and finally be true to yourself.. zaphod

I didn't realize how long it took someone to fade (which is what I am doing now). I have a close relative who is active and she use to bug me all the time about going back, telling me everybody at the hall asks about me all the time yadda yadda yadda but since I quit going some years back not once did anybody ever call or come by on a casual basis to see what was wrong; only when they were out in field service would they stop by (I guess to get more time in). The only reason why she is still in is because she has a son who has a mental disorder and thinks he will be spared if armageddon comes and she remains faithful; she even told me that.

Watchtower and the UN-latest development.
by apocalypse inlooks like everyone missed it.
i will clue everyone in.
first, in the way of history, the wtbts got linked up with the un as an ngo (non-governmental organization).to do so, the watchtower had to conform to the rules.

Isn't the WBTS linking up to the UN similar to Saul visiting the Witch of Endor in the Hebrew Scriptures?
