I thought it was under the direction of Jesus, or was that old light, or new light, or new old light or old new light?

G.B. members hand picked DIRECTLY by Jehovah
by SeymourButts ini was in the process of looking up an article, when i came across this little gem.
jehovah appoints the "governing body" himself, directly!
not only that, but the "organization" is under "the immediate direction of jehovah god himself" .

And, oh yeah, a lot of Saudis were prejudiced toward Americans there.

Interesting. Islam is so accepting of other cultures and religions.
Try practicing your culture or religion in Saudia Arabia and see what happens. I lived in Saudia Arabia for 4 years (76 to 79) and there were so many things you were not allowed to take in that country; no holy books except the Koran, unless you wanted to risk getting caught smuggling a bible there. Any other kind of religious service other than Islam had to be done underground. No cameras out in public. No alcohol. No pork; women had to wear long skirts and long sleeves out in public no matter how hot it was there and women were not allowed to drive at all there.

What Is Gods Name?
by Legolas inif there is a god...don't any of you find it odd that we don't even know his name!
i mean... if he was real why didn't he preserve his name for all of us to know?
i mean think of it, it is really stupid isn't!

His name as we know it accurate (or what is left of it) is YHWH any other form or vowels filled in the tetragrammaton is just an assumption of what is name would be pronounced. The King James and other translations use Jehovah and the Jerusalem Bible uses Yahweh; so in a nutshell it's a toss up.

LittleRockGuy,
Somehow I don't think your variation would ever happen.
Truthseeker:
You didn't answer my question. The purpose of the question was to let you realize how disenfranchised a gay person would feel by not expressing his sexuality; whether it be unnatural, sinful or whatever. What would you do in a similar situation if you were born that way. I know you aren't, but if you had that sort of hand delt to you in life, would you remain celebate the rest of your life or just try to keep it to yourself and play the straight game and live in fear of being found out? I am asking this because many people have that to deal with.

If God personally told you he didn't approve of homosexual behavior, I wonder how many would openly defy God and keep practising?
If God personally told you he didn't approve of heterosexual sex and yet you still had the innate desires that he put into you to have sexual relations with someone of the opposite sex, I wonder how many would openly defy Good and keep practicing?

Sorry - I didn't know that this was an apostate board - it is advertised as a Jehovah Witness forum where everyone is welcome. My apologies.
Billyboy:
You are an elder and you didn't know this was an apostate board? I dont consider this an "apostate board" but I remember back when I was an active JW 10 years ago and distinctly remember the counsel about participating in discussion boards and chatting with those you do not know on the internet as well as the instructions for JWs not to set up such sites so with a little bit of logic you would know that any site not approved by the WTS would be considered off limits by the WTS and would be considered bad association.

Yaddayadda:
Would you be willing to turn your back on a close family member (such as a son/daughter, grandson or granddaughter) if you found out they were gay?
Would your phobia of gays be so strong that you would refuse lifesaving treatment in an ER if you found out the only doctor working in the ER that evening is a "faggot" or "queer"?
People don't become gay from watching movies. Okay, so the film doesn't depict the hetero family like the sterile 50s sitcoms where June Cleaver vacuumed the pristene living room wearing a chiffon dress, peals and heels; nevertheless I saw a lot of reality in that film, obvious and subtle truths. I didn't see it as an attack on straight society but there has always got to be people damning anything that comes out in pop culture dealing with homosexuality.
