read why now!
(prweb) february 21, 2005 -- many people will remember a famous tv ad where a woman races to her washing machine, fabric softener in hand, only to arrive just as the wash ends.
this woman who "forgot to ad the fabric softener" was actually doing herself and her family a favor.. .

My thoughts exactly
ok the story i get from my jw relatives is that borg "isn't making money off them", but that never sat well with me.
i've always wondered how much money she contributed to the borg.. since i don't have the nerve to ask them, and they probably won't tell me the "truth" if i do, i'm asking you folks.. how much money does the average jw contribute to the cause?
how much do those silly magazines cost anyway?
Your mind, independence and your individuality.
Too much if you ask me.
you can thank the watchtower society for this.. here is an email from my hosting company:.
unfortunately it appears your site/account was involved in violation of using copyrighted material involved with watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania.".
as a result of this abuse and activity, we will be unable to reinstate this account for any reason.. in addition, due to the nature of this abuse and the risk of transferring sensitive or illegal content if we were to provide you your files, we will be unable to provide with backups.. it is unfortunate that this has occurred, and we are aware that more than likely this was not your intent to host, however the fact remains it did exist and complaints were made.
So sorry to hear about this elsewhere. I didn't know that was your site and I had been to that site quite often and even bookmarked it. I wish I had copied some stuff from there before the WTS took legal action to have it shut down. Do you have backup files from which you made your site from?
Im surprised they haven't gone after Randy's freeminds site.
i remember that in the mid to late 1980's the wt wrote a condemning article on watching "soap operas".
i was wondering if the society felt it was a "sin" for jw's to watch soaps or was it just an admonishment.
my jw "pioneering" aunt used to love watching "all my children" and mentioned it to her pioneer partner.
I did off and on so I guess I did while I was a witness but didn't think anything of it; Guiding Light (was watching that soap while everybody else I knew was into Luke and Laura, LOL) was what I watched in the early 80s, and Dallas of course during primetime.
Matthew 18:12-13
"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off."
so far, i've been left alone.
no one's bugging me.
i hear the c.o.
Going along alright since I moved a ways from my hometown and very few people have my cell phone number which is the only phone I have so I dont have any problems with anybody finding out my phone number and not a lot of people from my hometown do not know where I live. It's when I go to my hometown to visit my mother or friends I may run into some while out in town at local Wal Mart, etc.
hmmmm, i wonder if they thought the end was near in 1960?
yes, the answer is yes; they did think the end was near.
bwahahahaha.. *** w60 4/1 pp.
I remember reading that in the Your Will Be Done On Earth book; surprised nobody has mentioned it in a thread before
various posters have mentioned how get-togethers and fun times socializing were frowned upon and discouraged somewhere around the early 80's.
everything changed, as far as the picnics, the dinner parties, etc.
i vaguely recall some connection being made to parties and increased "immorality.
There used to be skating parties around the early to mid 80s until they thought it was a bad idea to have a large crowd to where they thought things would get out of hand. There were even people in my congregation calling up the society asking if it would be appropriate to attend large wedding receptions.
