  Separated and dating a JW

  is the 1st time i write in here .

  am really confused about my jw boyfriend attitude .. am separated and with a child .i went through a really bad time after separation (7 months ago)and one of the reasons the relashionship wth my husband ended is because i fell in love with my actual boyfriend ..was love @1st sight ...we didnt make love 4 obvious reasons related to his faith but @the beginning things were much easier :he allowed me to touch him in his intimate parts ,we touched each other (we saw each other naked without making love once)and was very exciting...but the more we were getting involved the accraction was growing more and more and even if i am from a different belief (converted to islam)we agreed that nobody should try to change the other or impose anything ,,,but now i feel he is a bit selfish >he doesnt allow me to touch him under the belt (telling me that recently he discovered he is not allowed to do that )he doesnt even touch my breast because he is not supposed to(after he did before)he is 30 years old ,very good looking man and he keeps telling me when he sees me (once a month :which is even too much)that he cant resist me !but is actually the opposite !!

  !he is resisting me ...before i will be able to committ to him i will have to wait 3 years which means also have sex >i dont know and i dont think i will be able to resist after 5 years of marriage and ''regular'' sex life //i am tired of seeing him once a month because his family doesnt know about us (he tells me that if they knew they would tell him to stop helping them with money and to stay with me :but he doesnt wantto make that choice,since he was young he supported the family //on top of that after marriage he doesnt want to have children and he tells me that i have already 1 child (we spoke many times bout that and to make sure he wont have children he wants to do an operation that will sterilize him ).

  Im at work and havent read all of the posts on this thread so I dont know if these points were addressed. If he is a devout JW he wouldn't be dating you to begin with, not only because you are not JW but also even though you are separated you are not married and JWs basically are told to only date to look for a marriage mate and you are already technically married. And even if you were free to date and he dates you, which in itself is not a DF'ing offense, it is strongly discouraged and there was an unwritten law where I was from that if a JWs even date or with someone of the opposite sex they are to NEVER be alone. It looks like to me he is just being selective in which JW rules to follow.

  Is it possible to 'choose' your own beliefs?

  to my mind the answer is an obvious "no".

  what i believe is drawn from my experiences, reasoning, research and endeavour.

  my beliefs may well be wrong but i have no other choice than to believe them until evidence or superior reasoning convinces me otherwise.. it narks me to hear people say "this is what i choose to believe".. am i weird?

  If you are weird, it isn't because of what you posted above. There has to be a reason for you to believe something and usually it is through logical evaluation. I guess people can try to fool themselves into believing something even though there are mountains of evidence against it.

  National Healthcare for the USA

  just an fyi for anyone interested - there is a major drive on to push the bill forward for national healthcare in the usa.

  you can sign the petition by going to http://www.onecarenow.org/.. it has gone through one part of the process last year and now the push is on to get it moved to the next level - it is backed by over 400 groups including the uaw i believe.

  it is no longer if it happens, it is only a matter of time as to when it happens.

  Not meaning to get off topic, but hearing the above comments like this would make me want to scream. As if there were no JWs whatsoever who were materialistic when in fact a lot I knew were the most selfish greedy money hungry people I have ever seen in my life. Many of them had no problem flaunting telling other financially less fortunate JWs about their ski trips, cruises and usually had several cars but of course when it came to them, they would reason "well there is nothing in the bible that says it is wrong to have them" but if someone who would try to better their situation in life by working harder which may cut into service time, they were not seeking kingdom interests first".

  i am rather new here, so i may be repeating a worn out subject.

  however, for me it is rather a new experience, since i have only just recently stopped going to the kh.

  my heart has never really been in it, though i am not in total disagreement and have made some nice friends in "the truth".

  I was baptized at 19 in 1987 and started faded in 1998, however in 1995 is when I started to really believe that I have been had but eventually just got tired of it all and decided it wasn't worth being something I wasn't and couldn't live; that was before I found out it was all a lie.

  i wonder if anyone has ever compiled a list of references to jehovah's witnesses in novels and other works of fiction.

  i have been reading about research into mormonism focussing on how mormons have been represented over the years in works of fiction.

  a similar project with jehovah's witnesses would be really fascinating.

  NEW INK!!!

  so, i went to my friendly neighborhood tattoo parlor today, and recieved my second and third (or 19th and 20th - depending on how you look at it) tattoo.

  the chest is an extremely sensitive area, and so i was very aware that i was alive for the majority of the time.. oh, birds are often seen as a symbol of freedom, happiness, and arriving safely.

  bones show regret, loss.. .
