for my birthday, my daughter (who works for apple) got me an iphone.. yes, i was using an old motorola flip-phone until now...like a geriatric captain kirk.. and i wondered why people had been giving me those strange looks before.... .
anyway, imagine my reaction to the mammoth technology contained in an iphone.. talk about a miracle, this qualifies.. i'm particularly impressed by the onboard gps.
i can type in a destination and the phone already knows exactly where i am and will plot a destination map onscreen.
I don't have an iphone or smartphone, however I just recently made the switch over to an imac from my older pc and I'm really liking it. I downloaded some cool apps from the applestore online.
I really like the app of Relax Melodies with all different sound effect and ambiences. I downloaded the free one and liked it so much I got the full version for only $4.99. I like the mixture of the sound of forest rain and thunder.

my father, who has alzheimers, is dying now (he's 85).
i saw him today - he weaves in and out.
hasn't recognized me for a long time but was usually glad for the company.
So sorry that you are going through this. I watched my dad go through cancer this time last year, him bald, skin and bone and weak. I did get to spend some time with him before he died at the end of May but I didn't get to spend as much time as we had such bad weather last year. Now 8 months later I still feel like a wreck mentally thinking about him no longer being here and I still feel a little bit of anxiety with him not being a phone call away. I always hated going to him when I needed anything and would always wanted to appear self sufficient, idependent and self-reliant but just the feeling that he was there made me feel okay and now I feel like a rug has been pulled out from under me. Take comfort in your loved ones at this time.
