35 Years Ago Today - John Lennon - Peace Advocate was Murdered
by flipper inin this age of violence with the san bernardino and france massacres sometimes it's good to reflect on the wise words of the peace advocates among us who proposed a better solution in bringing a more civil society to our universe.
john lennon, martin luther king jr. - people who stood up for equal rights and world peace and denounced violence and war - no matter how that violence occurs.
please feel free to comment on stories of john lennon on this thread and feel free to post any you tubes of his music that you may have enjoyed through the years.

Flipper:
My comment wasn't to completely trash John Lennon. It's just that people elevate him to such a godlike status it's irritating instead of presenting a picture of a guy with flaws, warts and all. I spent my hard-earned lawnmowing money on some of his records when I was a kid. I remember hearing the morning news of his death years ago when I was getting ready for school. I was 13 years old.
I think he had a problem with jealousy. I was listening to a Carole King interview when he and McCartney met her and her then husband Gerry Goffin and she said that he was kinda rude her and then later she found out that he wanted he and McCartney to be the next "Goffin/King" success. Ironically "Jealous Guy" is one of my favorite songs by him, lol

FLIPPER:
Nobody has to die to make me "god" to judge anybody. I'm just simply calling it as I see it. It would be easier to take notice of an "advocate of peace" from somebody who actually practices what he preaches instead of the said advocate beating the shit out of his wife and cheating on her and neglecting his first born son while singing "living life in peace." So we all make mistakes and are human; my point in posting his flesh and blood's quote, from somebody who knew him better than you did.LRG

John Lennon wasn't always what everybody thought he was.
"I have to say that, from my point of view, I felt that he was a hypocrite. Dad could talk about peace and love out loud to the world but he could never show it to the people who supposedly meant the most to him; his wife and son. How can you talk about peace and love and have a family in bits and pieces - no communication, adultery, divorce? You can't do it, not if you're being true and honest with yourself." Julian Lennon

Because some (not all) of the "conspiracy theories" have actually turned out to be true.

Can you prove that WT policy of shunning is unscriptual? Will soon be discussing with somebody, give me all your ammo!
by EndofMysteries inwill soon be discussing w/ somebody still in about that.
i want to make sure i am not missing anything good.
so any scriptures, articles whether wt articles or secular about effects of shunning, etc, or your arguments against how wt interprets their scriptures, etc.

The way I look at it Christians are suppose to be followers of Christ. I don't ever recall any examples where Jesus actually shunned anyone; only Paul came up with shunning as far as I can see and we are not suppose to be followers of Paul (man).

The Watchtower used the term "double life" in the past. I remember back in the 80s there would be articles in The Watchtower warning youths to "Guard Against Living A Double Life".

Some are so invested that even if the Society started putting idols in the KHalls, they would consider themselves at fault for questioning the GB
Isn't that what they did in Chile by displaying the national flag?
