Find the Beatles Songs in the Picture
by Simon insome light entertainment ... there are apparently 39 beatles songs hidden in the picture, but depending on how to interpret some of them you may come up with more.. please post one each, to give everyone a go, and describe where the song is in the picture (so it's not just coming up with a list of beatles songs).
also, check for existing answers - i'll post summaries to show the ones already identified.. .

Generally Speaking Do You Trust Your Government?
by minimus inas a us citizen, i am usually a bit skeptical of what comes out of the mouths of government officials.
often they may speak the truth but i’m not convinced of whatever they are saying as being 100% true.
do you believe your government implicitly?

Still totally ADD,
Unless you have the proof to back up what you are saying I'm going to assume you are spreading lies and bullshit. You have no credibility as far as I am concerned.

Do you have proof or evidence for what you claim from a reputable source?

Rumor of Religion wanting to contact Inactives
by LongHairGal ini saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).

Many of those I knew didn't seem to be too concerned about me when I was struggling for a job or a place to live when I was younger and they had decent jobs back in the day with generous retirement funds which allowed them or their family members to pioneer or serve where the need was great.
I think if I saw them now I would just share the same scriptures they did with me a long time ago like Matthew 6:33 which talks about seeking the kingdom and Psalms which says throw your burdens on Jehovah and Proverbs 3:5: Trust in Jehovah. Sorry I can't do more than say be warm and well fed.
Back then I received more judgement than I received genuine help. Fuck them.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

Caves,
Like I mentioned on another thread there have been a large of influx of flu in the area where I live and some surrounding schools have canceled classes briefly earlier this year because of it. Last month a woman in the who just turned 61 caught the flu and died from it and she didnt have any underlying health issues and was relatively healthy.
Even before the first confirmed case of covid-19 was made here in Arkansas we have been screening people coming into the hospital by taking their temperature and having them answer some questions, limiting visiting hours and not allowing visitors under 15.

The first week of March in Arkansas there have been 17 deaths contributed to the flu. Last month there was a woman who just turned 61 years old whose family said she was relatively healthy until she contracted the flu virus and eventually died. So far this season in Arkansas there have been 86 deaths from influenza and that is with a vaccine available.
For this reason and the high influx of the flu in the area where I live the hospital that I work at has limited entries and everybody coming into the hospital is screened for temperature and has to go through a questionnaire, including the employees. This is a hospital in a small town, my hometown with a population around 10K. Visitors and employees not passing the questionnaire or have a temp of 99.9 or above will not be able to enter. They limited visiting hours and kids under 15 years of age cannot enter, unless being treated as a patient of course.
We have been doing this before the first presumptive case of Covid-19 showed up in Arkansas. Just be careful out there everybody.

Why do Americans have to pay so much for College???
by RubaDub ini know there is a huge college/university lobby here in the us that lives off of students paying, in some cases, enormous amounts of money just to attend.. putting politics aside, if that is possible, (and i am not a bernie sanders guy by any means), but how can we pay for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, and then throw a huge debt to someone who wants to continue learning?
can't the us (public and state universities) afford four more years for young people to get on a career path without having to, in some cases, take out a mortgage/loan more than the cost of some homes?
then, (and nothing against immigrants, i am married to one), but then the us has to "import" students from other countries to fill the needs that we should be supplying here.

StilltotallyADD,
I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound so crass earlier. I do know what you mean regarding religion and education. However some of the most high ranking prestigious schools are religious in origin that do teach real science and critical thinking skills as well as theology and religious studies. If I had children I would send them to a private school that had high academic scores or home school them before sending them to a public school.
BTW I've been on this board for 15 years but thanks for the welcome!
