  What are some weird things that you do?

  everyone has their own idiosyncrises, mine is- .

  when i get a new book, i'll open it up to the middle of the book and stick my nose in the binding for about ten seconds, and smell how the glue, ink, and fresh paper smell.

  ahhhh i love that smell.

  i make songs out of virtually everything people say to me.

  sometimes i sing them out loud. sometimes i sing them in my head and i find it really difficult to concentrate on what the person is saying because i am so into my song. usually i don't even know what they have said to me.

  i also like to make words out of the letters on the license plate of the car ahead. then i sometimes make a song from that. sometimes i have loads of songs going at once and i say or type the words of the song rather than the actual thing i'm supposed to be saying/typing.

  and me and my dad can start singing the same song at exactly the same point, at exactly the same time. i think it is because he does the song in the head thing too and he has probably reacted to the same stimuli as me but doing at the exact same time is a bit weird.

  this thread has got me thinking how gosh darn freaky i am.

  i don't remember when i started doing this.

  i bite off the corners of my toast, chewing each piece on alternate sides of my mouth, leaving me with a cross shape. i then discern which opposite arms of the cross are the most equal in size bite them off and then chew each one of these on each side of my mouth, leaving me with one narrow, straight piece of toast. i then roll this up like a swiss roll and bite it in half. i chew one half on one side of my mouth and one on the other side, so neither side of my mouth chews more than the other.

  is that weird?

  my dad who owns a busisness...was told he could not do any work for the local catholic church or school...( he had just gotten a big for them)...and he came to find out the elder that forced this issue..( to the co )...himself signed a contract to do all...the churches work...( two diffrent feilds of work they were not in comption with other) my dad has written a letter to the wtbs.....wonder if it will help...what do you think...donald

  Would you give your life to get your family out of the Watchtower?

  i asked this question as part of another thread but i thought i would ask it in a new thread.

  if there were some way to assure that your death would result in your family and friends learning the truth about the wts would you be willing to die to 'save' them?

  i wouldn't give my life, but the more i am finding out about the wts, the more i have a burning desire to do something to open their eyes.

  unfortunately, the words brick wall and banging my head against come to mind. i can't blame them though. i would have been just the same.

  thank goodness my sexual urge was stronger than my spiritual need or i probably would never have got out myself.

  not beards but...double standards?

  i saw a debate on here about why men cannot have beards in org and it kinda got me thinking.. if a sister decided that she wanted to go natural (as god intended) and not shave her legs or her armpits (let's leave lady beards - the poor cows have got enough on their plate without engaging in debate about it) would that be frowned upon?.

  say, if a french or a german sister came to the congregation, looking like she was wearing afghan boots and had two fair sized hamsters nesting in her pits.

  would the brothers have valid reason to counsel her?.

  i wasnt the most academic of children although i had some capability but i could read quite well by the time i was 4 years old at least for my age; i have always read as a child and still read now as an adult both professionally (research) and for pleasure.

  i have always been able to write too...and pretty much advanced as well as my peers did in school...perhaps i am lucky, i certainly feel like i am when illiteracy amongst adults and children is rife at present...however.. i remember when i was 16 the wts in the uk were pushing through a scheme teaching those who were not as able to read and write...and an elder in the hall made a point of coming to me and suggesting that i should actually attend the training!!

  !....i explained that i could read and write well enough and didnt need to be taught basic literacy... he said that i might learn something new and should respect jehovahs order of things and show appreciation...i did decline his kind offer rather abruptly....but wtf??

  i don't know how i bit my tongue, db. i wouldn't do it now.

  even worse, this conversation happened on the way to the mental hospital, where the young mother was after trying to take her life after the abuse took place.

  i just had a thought. i bet this compassionate sister was counting this visit as time. she obviously didn't really care for the girl and she wasn't baptised, just studying. yep, i bet she even counted the journey as time because i was just studying then too.

  holy crap. i need to stop thinking about these shits. they just make me so angry
