  regarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.

  but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.

  that would clearly have been a mistake.

  The WT’s array of changes to their 1914 teaching would hardly qualify as refinements…more like sad attempts to control the damage of their false prophecies and embarrassing history. The 1914 teaching regarding the generation started out as referring to those of the physical generation alive in 1914 and able to understand the events of that time as they happened (I,e. someone 15 years of age in 1914)…as time move on and this prophecy came close to failing all of a sudden this came to include children in 1914…and eventually it just came to mean those born in 1914…until Nov of 1995 it suddenly referred to ‘wicked mankind’, those seeing the sign of ‘Christ’s invisible presence’ who do not mend their ways (.e. become Jws)….irregardless of when they were born…until a couple of years ago it was redefined to mean the ‘annointed’…modified several months later to mean the ‘annointed of 1914 and the next group of anointed. Not exactly refinements, more like a whole lot of confusion.

  My reply: Pathetic attempt. The time to qualify is before your prohecy fails...not after. If we use the WT's definition of a false prophet (when used to evaluate others) they are most certainly a false prophet- they predicted an end date, claim to be God's sole channel of truth, claim their 'truths' are the Creator's promise...etc. If we use the WT's definition of false prophet when they are defedning themselves, then no one would be a false prophet.

  I do not have the desire to trudge thru 7 pages of this, and many of you know I have gone thru this in the past...but prior to Nov of 1995, the Wt definitively stated it was God's promise of a new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 completely died out. They corroberated what they meant in many other WT articles, by saying a proof that the end was so close was the age of those born in 1914. Misunderstanding or whatever you want to write it off as, they stated tht it was God's promise that the new world would be here before the generation born in 1914 died off. I guess you can find some still around who were born then, so in that sense it hasn't failed except the WT has admitted that was the wrong interpretation...so their misunderstading/misinterpretation led to their false prophecying.

  Disfellowshipping Rescinded!

  has anyone been successful in getting their disfellowshipping rescinded?

  i specifically do not mean getting reinstated.

  i want to know if anyone that was disfellowshipped was able to officially and through the congregation and/or the organization have their status as a "disfellowshipped person" changed without getting "reinstated" through the normal procedures?.

  lawrence just emailed me today saying he had to sign the dismissal documents due to lack of funds - the watchtower wins again yay!

  the case is over for good, never to be resurrected.

  a golden opportunity never to be repeated was lost by all of us.

  Actually, Bethany did receive the blood transfusions...many. Didn't the doctors finally say she had enough, they could no longer help her?
