Are they really that bad???

had a good look into the doctrine, beliefs and practices of jws and to be honest, i don't really see anything wrong with it at all.. it's biblical and i've had such an eye opener the past year or so reading some of their books and magazines .

is there really any real reasons why i shouldn't want to get involved further?

My reply:
You're not a JW, obviously. You are a defender of them though (if one wants to call your sorry attempts a defense). However, you can not call the JW's refinable, as they refused to be refined by the Babylonish captivity they were sent away into in 1918. They exited practicing the same acts that got them sent away- belying their claim to be released and chosen as God' earthly steward. Evrything you say that leaps over this and calls them God's people has already been belied by the WT.

New Light on conducting meetings for Field Service

according to the governing body letters blogspot, the february 2011 km establishes a prohibition on reading the daily text at meetings for field service.. no further details are given.

anyone have theirs and can post a scan or a summary?.

Saco, not even in the NWT does the name Satan appear. I also wonder why, if this was Satan's ploy to kill Jesus, God allowed the wise men to find Jesus...and why God did not tell Joseph and Mary to flee to Egypt until after the wise men visited and gave them expensive gifts.

The WT basically says the star led them to Herod (assertion) and Herod sent them to find Jesus and report his whereabouts to him (fact). The star then led them to Jesus (fact) and they would have reported back to Herod had an angel not invervened (fact).
However, when reading the account we see right after the narrative that this was done to fulfil Jesus being called out of Egypt...the wise men provided monetary gifts for Jesus broke parents to run to Egypt. One has to come to this account already believing the Wt story to come to that conclusion from reading.

LOL, It assumes, with no basis other than the WT says so, that the star led them to Herod. Logic says the wise men would go to Herod in Jerusalem, the most obvious place for a king to be born. The wise men simply say they saw the star so came to Jerusalem. Then the star led them to the child where they gifted the fsamily with expensive gifts...which gave them the resoucres to run to Egypt...fulfilling an OT prophecy "Out of Egpyt I called my son..."
But Saco, the WT says it had to happen this way! You wouldn't be questioning them would you?? They have responsible 'brothers' who are assigned to do research.

LOL That is was a star sent by Satan to lead the wise men to Jesus..so they could report back to Herod where he was and kill him.

Perry, actually I am almost positive that the Wt says that in Matthew, the 12 tribes represents the whole world...while in Revelation it represents Jerusalem Above.
