Fe2O3Girl...YES! LMAO I've had plenty of those experiences...although there have been some good ones too. I love it when I get a flight that is lightly booked and I have a row to myself. It's a lovely experience when I'm not crammed up against a fellow passenger.
Once, on a flight from Miami to Hartford I was seated next to a nice young man who would NOT shut up! It was a messed up flight too...had to deplane once so that the mechanics could fix something, then we all boarded again and had to sit there for almost an hour because of storms in Atlanta (had a stop there)....the guy never stopped talking. I had a raging headache by the time the plane got to Atlanta, where I was told that I'd have to spend the night since we'd missed our connections. Fortunately, one bright service desk attendant noticed that there was a final flight boarding for Hartford and sent me running (with my suitcase bouncing along behind me) for the gate. Huffing and puffing, I got there before they closed the doors and was able to get home that night. After travel days like that, I sometimes feel like driving would be a lot less stress. LOL
