    I love it!

Love the take off, love the in-flight meal -YUM! - love the landing. Especially the landing. That sensation that the plane is about to plummet like a stone as it yaws from side to side as the speed bleeds away. Then..Kabumph! Then reverse thrust that has you hanging forward in your seat belt. Brilliant!

    Do you like to fly?

    Or do you hate it?

What do you think of the " Most popular pics of all time" on this site: http://www.airliners.net/

    Good, eh?

I like smaller planes and helicopters.

But I do like being pampered on the larger planes.

I'm completely with you Englishman. I didn't fly until I was 20 but I adore it now. Pretty air hostess, camp as anything air stewards, the rush of take off, the food, the in flight movies.... I could go on and on. What was your favourite flight of all time?

Landing in Funchal is great fun. Ultra-short runway, the pilot comes over the tannoy to tell you he's been especially trained to land here and to expect lots of bumps, bangs and heavy braking. Then he put's on the hand brake before he's even touched the ground..

    Look..just like an aircraft carrier.

On that web site I see lots of pictures of "engine strikes" (gulp), and what's the deal with that beach where the planes are flying overhead at what looks like less than 100 feet above the sunbathers (double gulp)???

Love flying though, although didn't do it myself until only a few years ago for the first time.

    ig.

Well, a few years ago I used to work for a company that paid for business class for all work-related flights. That was nice.......but now, I fly cattle class.

Aaah, the scrum at the gate as 100 people who can't read the number on their boarding card surge forward. The inevitable humungous passenger with BO that I always sit next to. The exquisite consideration of the person in front of me, who cannot maintain an upright position for 45 minutes in the middle of the day, shoving their seat back to within 4 inches of my nose. The passengers who bring on hand luggage bigger than the suitcase I checked in, and hog all the overhead locker space............

    Yeah, flying. Can't beat it.

One consolation is that if you pay an extra £300, you have exactly the same experience, with a limp sandwich and a teaspoon of soft drink thrown in. Bliss!

I also like flying especially the landing part. I always like to travel by day and try to get there early to pick a window seat so that I can watch the world below (if there are no obstructing clouds) or other planes flying in the same area above or below.

Fe2O3Girl...YES! LMAO I've had plenty of those experiences...although there have been some good ones too. I love it when I get a flight that is lightly booked and I have a row to myself. It's a lovely experience when I'm not crammed up against a fellow passenger.

Once, on a flight from Miami to Hartford I was seated next to a nice young man who would NOT shut up! It was a messed up flight too...had to deplane once so that the mechanics could fix something, then we all boarded again and had to sit there for almost an hour because of storms in Atlanta (had a stop there)....the guy never stopped talking. I had a raging headache by the time the plane got to Atlanta, where I was told that I'd have to spend the night since we'd missed our connections. Fortunately, one bright service desk attendant noticed that there was a final flight boarding for Hartford and sent me running (with my suitcase bouncing along behind me) for the gate. Huffing and puffing, I got there before they closed the doors and was able to get home that night. After travel days like that, I sometimes feel like driving would be a lot less stress. LOL
