I've pretty much already "disfellowshipped" them. I don't want to belong to their borg or be known as a Witless any more. They can sit in their own excrement, gabbling about how grand it is to be a part of Jehover's one and only, authentic, money-back guaranteed channel of the true light and pretend to have some sort of authority over me all they want. They can think the moon is the gateway to a parallel universe too; it doesn't make it so.

Presiding Overseer Says They Will Ask If You Still Want To Be A Jehovah's W
by minimus inthe local needs talk on thursday discussed a few different things, according to my mom.
but the one that stood out most was that he announced that based on the new book, the elders will be checking on those that have not been associating with the congregation for some time.
they will ask, "do you still want to be a jehovah's witness?

Maybe I should just write them a letter now and let them know so that I don't have to talk to them on the phone or at my door. LOL

Pass the Jesus I need a hit!
by free2beme ini hate to say this, as there may be some here that fit this description, but people deep into jesus with all that saved talk and accepting jesus talk, look the same as the person trying to get me to take a hit on the bong.
these people seem stoned hard core and in la-la land of some fantasy and wonder why others don't want to ride the crazy train with them.
personally, i find these people to be almost alien to me, in that they seem so into their religion of "save" and "accept" this, that there is no reasoning or even discussing a different subject with them.

Religion gives a sense of comfort....all the stuff you don't understand, all the stuff that seems to be out of your control...is in God's hands, right? So you don't have to worry about it or do anything about it because He will take care of the problem eventually. Very seductive. Very conducive to euphoria as everything dirty will be cleansed, every injustice or wrong will be righted, every evil avenged...and all you have to do is jump up and down on one foot, reciting the Lord's Prayer, while keeping a hula hoop in motion. Praise Jesus.

Any good prayer stories?
by Samuel Thorsen ini know an elder who once opened a prayer like this:.
"jehovah!
this is xx-congregation speaking..." .

We had this great dummy of an elder who used to chastize the congregation in his prayers. "...Oh, Jehoba, please help some of the friends to get out in service and not selfishly spend so much time on recreation...we realize that it's such a great priviledge to be one of your people and want to demonstrate our appreciation of your loving arrangement by being present and on time to each and every meeting you provide.... "
Sometimes I wanted to walk out before he finished.

when my knees hurt.
when I look at my youngest son and realize that he's older than I was when I had him.
when bands I like all have members who are my son's age or younger.
when I start reminiscing and realize that stuff I'm talking about happened 20 or 30 years ago.
when I look in the mirror and think that my hair is too long for a woman of my age (used to be that my hair could never be too long lol).

would dubs ever go into field service if there was no record-keeping?
by zagor indo you think that any dub would ever go into field service if they didnt have to record hours of service?
i dont believe it at all.
in fact, you could see that everything they do is because there is some sort of record keeping behind it, i.e.

When I was an unbaptised pub (or whatever it's called these days), I somehow missed the instruction on turning in time....the sister I studied with moved to AZ right when I was starting to get serious about being a dub, and the gal she turned my study over to was less than thorough about explaining these things (it's such a hoot now because she's become uberpioneerdub and doesn't even have time for personal hygene she's so zealous and meticulous about service).
Anyhow, I knew I had to go out door2door before getting baptized, but I didn't know I was supposed to record everything. I later calculated that I'd been out about 25 hours that month. Stupid me, I thought that Jehovah was keeping track and that all JW's were honestly doing their very best for him every day, that this was a personal demonstration of faith, yada, yada, yada. I was quite shocked when the PO gave me grief about my qualifications for baptism because I hadn't written everything down on a little scrap of paper and turned it in.
Somehow knowing I had to jot down every little bit of time I spent talking about the troof and what zines and books I'd placed spoiled it for me. I think I'd have been better at FS without the record keeping.

Somebody said that managing a fortune is a full time job. LOL
I'd prolly take classes, do volunteer work, travel, build and decorate the house of my dreams, and try to write a book (doesn't mean I'd ever really finish or that it would be good enough to publish, but I'd like to try). I think I could find more than enough rewarding things to do that didn't require going into a job every day.

Apostates commit the unforgivable sin and will NOT be resurrected.
by gumby ini posted this on another thread....but as usual, when i posted it, the thread died and so i thought i'd put it under a different subject as it's worth re-reading.. the society has always said nobody is the judge who commits the dreaded...."unforgivable sin", but they sure the hell do not having any trouble making a statement concerning apostates as commiting the unforgivable sin.. 1982 watchtower 4/1 p.26-28 .
" jesus told the unrepentant scribes and pharisees that they and their gentile proselytes were subjects for gehenna or, literally, sons of gehenna.
(matthew 23:15, 33-35; see also john 9:39-41; 15:22-24.

Maybe that's why I subconsciously avoided looking up "apostate" stuff online for so long. I figured if I was sorry that I couldn't be a good little dub, that maybe if I eventually went back, I'd be forgiven.
After a couple of years of freedom from the borg, I got resentful that we were forced to live in such an unnatural way in the first place. I decided that nonexistance would be better than living in a trashed earth full of dead bodies and rubble, that we were probably going to be required to clean up for hundreds of years, with a bunch of self-righteous control freaks....only to be run through the ringer again at the end of it.
Who is this Jehovah anyway? It's all judging and death and you can only have happiness if you put on the new straightjacket and demonstrate abject guilt for every stray thought or imperfect deed. Cool, prison for eternity. Why not just brain wipe us and program in what you want?
