FYI, the April 2012 letter didn't play as big a part in the trial as did the 1989 letter because it was in effect when Candace was molested. Mr. Simon was sent the April letter, which validated the "secrecy" issue that Mr. Simons was pressing, but it couldn't be used in the way the 1989 letter was used.

Watchtower's April 9 BOE Confidentiality Letter - Child Abuse - Did Jane Doe lawsuit play a major part?
by SweetBabyCheezits ini'd bet my left.... pinky toe that the wt's monster 4/9 confidentiality letter was put out as a direct result of the jane doe/candace vs wt case as they were preparing to go to trial.
there had already been a year of legal proceedings - surely the wt knew the shit was about to hit the fan.. thanks goes to atlantis for posting the boe letters originally as pdfs.
the person that a restraining order is a personal legal matter that does not involve the congregation.. thereafter, the elders should call the legal department immediately for direction..

Looks like we're seeing some media giants carrying the story now that AP is involved.
I sent Rachel Zoll, AP Religious Editor an email Friday evening but didn't hear a reply so I was a bit discouraged. I made excuses for seemingly lack of interest because it was the weekend. I can't tell you how great it felt to see AP going with it. When AP put Candace's story on the news feed, then I knew the big guys would go with it and international papers would start publishing. When England's Daily Mail published the story an hour or so ago, it made my day!

Candace is overwhelmed by the love and support that is being poured out to her and I'm a bit overwhelmed too by so many kind words directed at me. I feel sure that any woman in my shoes would have reacted the same as I did and still do to what I discovered twenty years ago. My circumstances, due to the support of my wonderful husband, have made it possible to keep at this since 1999 and I feel gratified that my efforts were not in vain. Sometimes I would get discouraged thinking that WT always wins, but that thought would pass when I'd get another email through my website from a JW or XJW who was pouring out their heart about the harm they suffered at the hands of abusive elders, molesters, or the WT religious machine. Then I'd get mad and get going again.
Candace's mom told me that Mr. Simons will be interviewed by Anderson Cooper on CNN soon. I have no date or time as yet, but when I find out, I'll immediately start a new thread with the announcement.
It was one lone Boston Globe reporter that broke the RCC pedophile priest scandal wide open back in 1993 and here we are in 2012 seeing that same newspaper carrying Candace's story that speaks volumes for all the kids molested at the hands of JW molesters:

Calif jury awards $28M in Jehovah's sex abuse case
Jodi, I thank you for being out there with your loving support for me and for Candace. Your words to me are extremely moving and it's people like you that elevate my spirit and propel me on.

Answer to questions:
I haven't looked at Rick's site recently and don't know if he changed the look of it or not. Why don't you look? If you do, hopefully it's to your liking.
Yes, the interview will be available to listen to on Rick's site I think starting about the middle of next week.
I don't know what time it will be in Portugal when the interview starts at 7 P.M. in the US EST zone. Maybe someone can find out for you.
Candace and her attorney will be interviewed for TV on Monday. Don't have all the facts yet so don't ask!

There was an Awake! article on McCabe I believe in the late 1960s really pitching the big news about his conversion to the Witness religion. I remember reading it and I think the Awake! highlighted McCabe's football career, but you know how wrong memory can be.

Rick Simons, Candace Conti's attorney, will be interviewed on the Six Screens of the Watchtower conference phone line this evening. There's a good chance that Candace will join in, but that's not set in stone.
The host of the program, Rick, told me to tell everybody that he is learning how to calm down and to do better on these conference calls. He's trying hard to come across more professional and thanks to your criticism he's lightened up. Let's give him another chance tonight. And if you can't stand Rick, don't tune in. But if you want to hear an excellent report right out of the mouth of the number one insider in this momentous case, please tune in.
Hey, please don't attack me for posting this information at such a special time. I'm here as a messenger, not an enemy!
Conference call #: 712-432-8710; Listen for the operator and then hit Pin #9925. To comment later on in the interview, hit star 1 to unmute. Don't unmute unless you want to ask a question later on because the background noise in your home can be heard by everyone on the conf. line.
The program starts at 7 p.m. EST; but there's a chat going on starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be heavy traffic tonight due to the specialness of this interview, so if you can get on the conf. line before 7.
If you live in the Central Standard Time Zone, the program starts for you at 6 P.M.
If you live in the Pacific Time Zone, the program starts at 4 P.M.
Forgive me guys who won't be too keen on this.
