OTTAWA — The one-time treasurer of an Ottawa nudist club who encouraged other parents to engage in sexual acts with their children has been sentenced to five years in prison for possessing thousands of pictures, videos and stories of child pornography.
Victor Lynch-Staunton — or "Uncle Victor" as he referred to himself in one of his computer chats — claimed his online activity was the "natural expression of his sexuality."
Lynch-Staunton, 56, also explained to a probation officer that he didn't know his vast collection of child pornography, which included horrifying images of babies being raped, was illegal.
"It wasn't pornography; it was erotic nudity," Lynch-Staunton explained to a probation officer.
Lynch-Staunton added that eight years worth of sexual chats, in which he expressed an interest in having sex with daughters of nudist friends and counselled incest, bestiality and all kinds of other sexual acts with children, were for educational purposes. Those chats included asking girls as young as 12 for their pictures.
Lynch-Staunton said he wanted to "study" the reaction of early pubescent females to images and scenarios on the Internet. He didn't display any remorse or regret, according to a pre-sentence report.
"I'm a nudist. I download pictures," said Lynch-Staunton, who views himself as a victim after he was beaten up while in jail.
He later admitted he saw nothing wrong with sexual activities between older teenage girls and their male relatives.
He also avoided testing that could have helped determine whether he is a pedophile, claiming it was against his Jehovah's Witness religion to view the child pornography necessary for the test.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Lynn Ratushny wasn't swayed by Lynch-Staunton's portrayal of himself as a "kindly nudist" and "fatherly, caring and gentle figure."
"Possession of child pornography is not simply an example of a viewing of sexual 'naughtiness' or experimentation by others," said Ratushny. "It is, always, a portrayal or terrible abuse of real children with real and lifelong serious consequences."
Ratushny said she didn't believe Lynch-Staunton's claims that he didn't know possessing child pornography was a crime.
He knew about the legal age of consent and a new law that raised that age of consent to 16, she said.
"The excuse put forward by the accused that he was 'studying' sexuality is clearly just that, an excuse," she said.
The child pornography, which he also was convicted of distributing to an undercover detective, was neatly organized into folders on his computer and routinely backed up. Some of the pornography dated back to 1998.
Police seized 2,097 child pornography pictures, 1,763 stories and 574 movies.
Lynch-Staunton was arrested in February 2009. Ratushny gave him three years' credit for his time already spent in custody, leaving him two years of his sentence left to serve.

Londo111: In that my experience as related took place twenty years ago and I haven't any proof of my allegations, I doubt anybody in high places would be interested in doing an investigation. I don't even know the name of the JW Don Adams was speaking to on the phone; nor do I have any idea what was discussed. So it would be a matter of my word against his. I mentioned this event to substantiate John Steele's claim that he discovered that JWs will do whatever it takes to protect or further the interests of the Watch Tower Society no matter if it's illegal. The hatred that many JWs have for anybody standing up to the WT is, in my experience, almost incomprehensible.
And if asked by the WTS to do something illegal, in my experience, some would do it. One time when Joe and I were in Bethel, we traveled to Turkey with another Bethelite couple. We didn't know that they were smuggling into Turkey a laptop computer for the Turkish branch at the request of Don Adams. After we were stopped by Turkish military police and almost arrested because of that laptop, later we were informed of the real reason they were carrying that machine. And to top it all, we were given an envelope to carry to the Turkish Branch Servant and did not know what was in it. If it had been opened by the police, who knows where we would be today because it had religious material in it that was banned by the Turkish government. We were entirely ignorant, but the other couple had full knowledge that what they were doing was illegal. Later, when we asked them why they didn’t tell us about the laptop, the response was surprising but true: “We didn’t think you would go along with it.”

When I was in Bethel, I had an experience that sort of supports John Steele's allegation of a JW “spy” network.
One day in 1991, I was in Don Adams Executive Floor office discussing something related to my research work on the Proclaimers book. At the time, I was research assistant to Karl Adams, a senior writer in the Writing Department. (Karl was a fleshly brother of Don. His other brother, Joel, was also at Bethel. He was, and probably still is, a member of the Service Department’s Committee then working directly under GB member, Ted Jaracz.)During our conversation, Don's phone rang and he excused himself and answered the call. He made no effort to lower his voice so I could clearly hear what he said, which wasn’t that much because he was writing down information she supplied him. Afterwards, Don explained to me that the call was from a “sister” who worked in the US State Department. He said she worked in a job where, if she wanted to, she could easily access any reports that came into the State Department about situations that involved the activities of the Watch Tower Society and Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world.
And what did this JW do with the intelligence information she gathered? She called Don Adams. “She was invaluable to the work of the Society,” he told me. That was all that was said on the matter, but I thought it was great that loyal JWs, like me at that time, were very willing to do what they could to further “Kingdom Interests” in any way they could, even if it meant perhaps breaking rules, and in some cases, breaking the law by providing confidential information to the Society that they were privy to.

I think this is about the lawsuit in Spain against the Watchtower I reported on in the spring of this year:
Below is a Google translation of Blog page in Spanish found at http://octavicentelles.blogspot.com/2011/10/convocado-el-juicio-contra-los-testigos.html that Mickey Mouse inquired about:
"We received the invitation to view our lawsuit against the Jehovah's Christian Witnesses confession, the preview was held last May "The view from our lawsuit, which was accepted the next day will take place December 22, 2011 at 9:15 am, in the Commercial Court no. 3 of Madrid. "Simultaneously, our legal team is already working on the formal complaint in the U.S. and Canada. Do not forget the entities of the Watchtower, that under different legal forms printed and distributed its "literature" in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Philippines, Australia, Nigeria, Colombia, ... "We are making a major financial effort in addressing all the costs of claims, we commissioned a renowned specialist in intellectual property law an opinion, which includes not only how to get playback on photo paper, but the business relationship of the representative Jehovah's Witnesses, with a photo agency that until a few months ago was still in business, the same who tried to sell pictures of Agustí Centelles i Ossó (contract in force, day VEGAP) to their children. "Claim costs are very high, our claim has one goal, to claim authorship of AGUSTÍ CENTELLES I OSSO, which compensates us for the important economic effort we are making in fees, funding and travel expenses. The Watchtower organization has no liquidity problems, it usually appears in the finest forums hedge fund investors, is currently negotiating the sale of most of the central complex in the province of Madrid and the sale of two of its cathedrals in Barcelona . "The height of his arrogant attitude, refusing a copy of the print magazine was trying to negotiate with VEGAP behind our back. The forms, correspondence sent to us in English, since its organization in Spain (a mere branch of the Watchtower) unsigned and other forms of rudeness have disappointed us, but not cult members who have always shown respect for our complaint and provided us with important documents of economic and business framework that manages the service. "Its directors in Spain (members of the branch committee of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania) and we were warned that they will appeal all judgments against the children of Agustí Centelles i Osso, we have all the time in the world to be DO JUSTICE. "Jehovah's Witnesses have had for years and claims many problems with the use of images, as in the case of a famous artist, who made headlines in the German magazine Stern and subsequently left in an illustration in the book "You Can Live Forever" and another illustration of the magazine "The Watchtower". "We have tried since the beginning of 2009 to negotiate a fair and reasonable settlement with the organization of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses, not attending to our just demands, we had to take our complaint in Spain by the courts, as we do with the other countries where have their distribution centers and print shops, owned by the economic and business complex "During these two years we have received the support of hundreds of cult members who have provided us with copies of the journal, documents lilbros bound and secret instructions received by the bishops of worship when they receive a request for judicial or police for suspected collaboration crime."

The story on this thread is being continued on another thread where more links to newspapers that are carrying the story:
I posted the following information on that link:
Hopefully, this story is going to have legs because it is an Associated Press article. Note that this link,
http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/8e675d204fbf4352ab2cf65086b4b411/NY--Buried-Chemicals/ , is to a Columbus, Indiana newspaper, The Republic, not just to a local Upstate, NY newspaper article.
FYI, I was told some years back by a knowledgeable person, a former JW, that barrels containing inks and other waste by-products from WT printing operations in Brooklyn were taken in Society trucks to WT owned property in Wallkill for disposal by burying this hazardous waste in unpermitted dump cells. Some of these old barrels were unearthed and damaged during construction activities which produced a lot of contaminated soil as a result. Instead of disposing of the contaminated soil it was spread on a field so as to reduce the amount of contamination reported to the authorities (a couple of barrels instead of a couple of dump trucks).
This waste disposal went on for an unspecified period in Watchtower's past. Many areas where these old (antiquated) barrels are buried are now broken due to decay and the spilled contents have been contaminating the soil and streams. There are old dump sites, I was told, all over the WT's Wallkill property. I believe the present investigation is due to whistle-blowing by this man.
Oh, by the way, this property (WT Farms) is in a major watershed area, Hudson Valley Watershed, where millions of people get their drinking, etc., water from.
On a related note, for as many years as they could get away with it, Watchtower had been “cooking” or making the material that the printing ink was diluted with. It’s some sort of a compound like varnish or shellac and it was illegal for years to make this as it is a major air polluter. At Brooklyn it was processed in the Ink Room and the cooker was given a phony name called “Ink Vehicle Processor” or something like that, to fool inspectors. It was thought that this material also was dumped at WT Farms in the past because they couldn’t make it legally, so they had to get rid of the waste illegally.
It is doubtful that WT is still doing this now, but definitely they did it in the 60s through late 70s when my informant was at Bethel. He left Bethel in 1978 but had no reason, he said, to believe that they stopped this procedure in the 80s.
The Ink Department overseer for many, many years was none other than Lyman Swingle, a director of the WTBTS of PA who we all know became one of the Governing Body when that "Body" came into existence in the early 1970s.
Without a doubt, Max Larson, WT factory overseer, and Swingle, GB member, took many foul, harmful, secret facts of illegal activities with them to their graves!

Chemicals buried at WT Farms (WT ruining the earth)
by doinmypart init seems that the wt is guilty of illegally dumping printing chemicals (or as they like to say "ruining the earth") in upstate new york.
read the full articles from the news sites below.. "state officials are investigating chemical pollution found buried at an upstate new york property owned by the jehovah's witnesses organization.
