  check your drivers license.... now you can see anyone's driver's license on the internet, including your own!

  i just searched for mine and there it was...picture and all!.

  I'm glad you are thinking ahead for your kids. That is so thoughtful. Our school had a whole day (when the kids were little) and mom's came into help, they made a complete dinner! Turkey, potato's, pies, the works! They even made their own butter! It took the better part of two days. Imagine the poor little jw kid not being able to go into the school kitchen and helping! ( don't ask why but to be able to really cook in the school kitchen with all that stainless steel is a big deal to the kids!!) As for the 'hand turkeys' everybody makes when little in school, how harmful could that really be to ones spirituality? It's a piece of construction paper and maybe a few feathers!

  in my congregation it is frowned apon.

  a male can have one but he wouldnt get any privilidges and would probably be labeled the black sheep.

  I still don't get it. I guess it comes down to if one believes the fds is really who they say they are and if you believe it. And if you really believe God is telling them to tell all the rank & file they must not wear beards today. So we come back once again to why are they the fds? And is it Biblical to hold up a governing body as high as jw's hold up the gb in Brooklyn. Should mere men be putting such a heavy yoke upon God's people without these certain 'rules' even being in the Bible.Do all these 'rules' take away from the real message of God? How you treat each other? To be looked down upon because of facial hair and have certain 'pirveleges' taken away is just no where in the Bible, except for laws and rules of the Pharisees. How can you not see this? I'm not trying to be mean, I am truly asking.

  Do you really think God cares if you have a beard or not? I thought He judged our hearts. If He is so against beards why did He make it possible for men to grow them?

  What does having a beard or not show how spiritual you are and why are mere men judging you by such a standard? To outsiders do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? I have heard a number of reasons for not being ALLOWED beards, Originally Rutherford put the ban on because people loved Russell so much and tried to emulate him in many ways and Rutherford basically wanted Russell forgotten and all adulation to go to him, secondly I heard that in the 60's only hippies and weirdos wore beards and of course you wouldn't want to be mistaken for one of those! Then I heard that the elders should have such control because they are in charge of your spirituality, again what does facial hair have to do with spirituality? So if the elders decided you should all dye your hair a certain color would you go along with that? Did Jesus ever put such demands on people?

  so the elders, in all their spirit appointed glory, decided to give a talk.. sadly, i'm too lazy to fill it with apostate and atheistic undertones.

  so i just did a straight out, boring ass talk.

  and i know you all wish you could be there to see me, but since you can't, i'll put up a transcript of my talk.

  not sure if you americans know about them, but mcfly are a british pop band, and they're coming to visit where i work for a single signing tomorrow... kinda cool, even though i actually dislike their music.

  FREE HEALTH CARE

  littlerockguy's recent post about paying for his medical care in the usa got me thinking about something i've pondered over for a while before realising you lot here probably have the answer.

  because of all the treatments i've been having it has made me mightily glad i live in the uk and the bill is paid for by the national health service.

  therefore, any medical treatment i receive is free.

  Is the 700.00 per year or per hospital visit? A new knee here (US) cost about 16,000,00 just for the 'parts' (actual knee) not including the Dr. to do it, the anesthesiologist, pain meds., hospital stay, etc...

  I live in the US and in my house you don't go unless you are dying. No complaining either unless you are willing to go to the Dr. Side note- self employed. That explains it. Kids are exempt from (in my house) they dying stipulation. Even then, chicken soup before Dr. You would not believe, some of my kids friends have to go the Dr. when they just begin to sneeze or cough! Which makes us look bad of course. But no, there is never anything the Dr. can do, just rest and maybe try some soup! So if something was going around I would wait for all the friends to go to find out if it was really something that needed a Dr.s attn or not! I know, I sound mean. But some people take such advantage of their health insurance! I have had my kids in for tests of all sorts when needed. Please don't write, 'it's for the kids'! I do take them when needed. How often did Gradma have to take the kids? A little common sense would go a long way!
