by Freedom rocks inhi i haven't posted for a while but i have a question and would appreciate any advice offered.
i left the cult 2 years ago and i'm so happy now.
i struggled at first and with the help of the lovely men and women on here i got stronger and started to find myself and ive grown as a person (i'm not being told who i am or who i should be anymore).

Learn how to teach a child critical thinking skills.
Do holidays! be the fun parent with birthday parties, Christmas, Easter, after school sports, band, arts, etc....
Visit various faiths to learn about world religions and to let your ex know in no uncertain terms that you will be teaching the child all about other faiths.
Teach the child it is more than ok to be an individual with their own thoughts, beliefs, likes and dislikes.
Teach the child to question everything even if it comes from you, dad, grandparents, teachers and especially religious authorities. When it is age appropriate teach them about cults.
Bring the child to a fun Sunday school! they do arts, crafts, dance, plays and so forth and still learn basic Bible stories. Quite a difference from a kh from what I hear.
Do all you can to protect your child's well being. Protect them from spiritual abuse, physical & sexual abuse, mental and emotional abuse. Be the mother bear and protect your child.

after we had our daughter she got reinstated so her family and her jw "friends" could spend time with our daughter.

I forgot to add that a court may look more kindly on someone exposing their children to a diverse world rather than a rigid system that it is known to hide and protect pedophiles.

@caves, it's how I kept my kids out of kh but then we didn't split up so it is a different scenario.
Years later, my kids are Christian and know full well that the jw's are a cult. Love their jw dad all the same. Though they were taught unconditional love by me & their faith.

You could let her know that if she insists on bringing kids to kh then you will be bringing kids every other weekend to various faiths of the world. One week will be Catholic, Temple, Hindu, Protestant and so forth....
Do not trust a jw to adhere to any agreement unless it is stipulated by a court of law. In order for a court to recognize that the jw's are in fact harmful to children you will need a good attorney and a child psychologist and possibly a cult expert. This is no joke. Many on this board have lost their children to the borg by trying to be a nice ex spouse and not make things more difficult. Tear that bandaid off and protect your precious child/children now. It's your job as a parent.
