In regard to the zoom thing, they seem worried about people recording the meetings. Weird isn't it? most churches wouldn't care and would put up meetings online for all to see.

Rumor of Religion wanting to contact Inactives
by LongHairGal ini saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).

"....whether to grant a disfellowshipped person access to recordings of meetings...." - why on earth wouldn't they allow access? don't they want the df'd person to come back at some point? aren't df'd persons normally supposed to sit in the back and not talk to anybody? so sitting in their house watching something is going to harm who? (besides the poor df'd who doesn't know that freedom lurks just beyond the grasp of the cult)

How are they affected? I dunno about your jw's, but mine has gone bat shit crazy paranoid about it! sigh, yes, it is awful, we should all take necessary precautions and so forth but this 24-7 news cycle on it is not helping people who can't wait for the Big A.

In today's information age with tv & internet nobody really has to fly around do they? (not talking about vacations) The politicians and Greta could do podcasts, commercials, youtubes etc... Many businesses have stopped flying employees around and use technology to have meetings, there are many ways to reach the masses now without the elite flying around telling the rest of us poor slobs how wasteful we are.

jw's use a common cup for their yearly reject Jesus communion, correct? I imagine each kh has a few who partake as the numbers keep going up. Would they consider using the little plastic shot cups like other churches do during cold and flu season? if so how many cups to they need? ha, they would be in quite a quandary trying to figure that out!
