My jw quit playing chess with the kids when he joined in the early 90's because it was a 'war game'. The ban on chess still had legs at that time. No one has asked him to play since.

It was my understanding that jw's never go anywhere that traditional Christians have not already been. Would that be correct? I don't think they do Muslim countries at all do they?
(not saying Christian missionaries have not been in Afghanistan but the thought of getting your head lopped off for apostasy would make one think twice before doing so).
How about the Congo? or deep Amazon forest? Tibet? I would imagine there are many places that have never heard of jw's. Heck, people in the States don't even know what they believe including many jw's!

Pandemics, war, 'persecuting' jw's around the globe, courts taking action against their pedo cover ups.... they are all probably flying pretty high right about now. Downright giddy with excitement I suspect.

) he is looking for some penpals to help make the time go by faster and to really learn more about the religion so he can make a difference in his community once he gets out.
If he is already only speaking about jehovah then someone has already gotten to him in prison and he is probably on his way to becoming one. Keep your kids far away from kingdom halls (that is what jw's call their 'churches') and anything to do with jw's.
