Would have been nice if the author had the guts to name the cults.
"Another said: “We had to report how many hours we’d been preaching. I was a full-time pioneer, so had to report 100 hours a month minimum preaching; 1,200 hours a year with no allowance for holidays.” = jw

Another option would be to write NY and explain how you think is just taking advantage of the employer and is really Christian to not put in you full 100% 8 hours of work? hmm, just doesn't seem right does it? does the 'religion' advocate basically ripping off an employer? As you yourself being a Christian you were always taught to give your best at work so you would be a fine example..... blah, blah...
Yeah, I know, kind of nuclear option, depends on how obnoxious the jw really is I guess.
Or, print out some pedophile cases and leave them in the lunchroom.

ANTI-DEPRESSANT medication for the last 60 years now proved to be based on poorly supported false theory
by Terry in"the chemical imbalance theory of depression is still put forward by professionals, and the serotonin theory, in particular, has formed the basis of a considerable research effort over the last few decades.
the general public widely believes that depression has been convincingly demonstrated to be the result of serotonin or other chemical abnormalities, and this belief shapes how people understand their moods, leading to a pessimistic outlook on the outcome of depression and negative expectancies about the possibility of self-regulation of mood""read: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m92v7hb0njm2mnvnu6nv0kpnkzloe-_k4crh_wphpti/edit?usp=sharing.

If you follow any research data at all you will also see the Alzheimer's research has been in the news as of late due to faulty and fraudulent research data. It is pretty much blowing up on the internet if you follow such research. google for yourself.
If it can be so faulty with Alzheimer's imagine the faulty research on depression, mental health at large, neurological studies, etc... it could feasibly call all of that research into question.
I know some people in the mental health field who now question all research, drugs, therapies and/or diagnosis for all mental health and even neurological issues. Though, they tow the line in order to keep their jobs. And yes, they will give drugs because that has been the mainstream way to deal with issues. These are PHd's, and all the other alphabet degrees. Sad, even sadder is those with the authority know it is b.s. yet they feel powerless to change the situation. So they pull out their handy prescription pad and give the masses what they want.
I realize this will be an unpopular opinion.

Unmarried couple staying at my house
by suavojr ini need your help with this topic.
i’m trying to find an elder’s letter or wt article that frown upon a good standing jw allowing an unmarried couple to stay over their house for the night.. my wife claims this is a conscience matter and i say that’s bs, this leadership does not allow it.

All I know as a ubm is there is no way in hell my jw would allow such a thing! (mine joined up later in life and I have never been and never will be a jw) My jw has enforced the not married thing in our house a number of times and would elsewhere if he had the say so but unfortunately for him I have the ultimate say so in a few situations. Sorry, but if a couple has been together for well over 20 years but without the paperwork it makes no nevermind to me. They were more faithful than many I have known who claim to be uber faithful what ever that 'faith' may be.
I think your wife is confused. no offense intended.

There are many, many ways of treating depression without pharma drugs. Pharma drugs should be an absolute last resort. Unfortunately most people want a pill to 'fix' things quickly which often causes all sort of side issues then one must take yet another drug to deal with side effects and then a 'booster' drug of sorts because the original drug isn't working as well as it should. The fact that we are drugging our children so easily should scare everybody. They are even giving Prozac to infants https://blogs.unimelb.edu.au/sciencecommunication/2018/10/14/babies-prescribed-antidepressants/ (just one article, google for yourself)
People are fast to hand over their health care to those in white coats. I know people who were given high dose and dangerous pharma drugs in an appointment that lasted less than 10 minutes and that included the time it took for the MA to 'room' you. The MA takes your blood pressure, weighs you, etc...
Alternative treatments abound, exercise, diet, supplements, therapy, meditation, placebos, and the list goes on. Many are not traditional but highly effective and far less stressing on the body and mind.
There are times when traditional pharma drugs may be necessary but those should be far and few between. Again, they should be a last resort.
I agree that masking the symptoms does nothing to the solve the actual cause and understanding of the cause and taking action to 'fix' the actual causes. But that is the case with so many pharma drugs.
I suggest reading something way outside your wheelhouse, read how drugs come to market, the history of 'modern medicine', where drugs come from in the first place (hint-nature), placebo & noceba (sp?) effects, etc.. etc... It is a real eye opener and dare I say even more astounding and eye opening than one becoming aware and awake to the 'truth about the truth'. It would rock your world if you knew. Take the red pill or the blue? which do you choose?
