  i am facing something of a dilemma.

  it saddens me to say that a witness i am studying with, and whom i like a lot, is not living up to the teachings and morals of the bible.

  my conscience troubles me about whether i should take action myself, or report him to other elders.

  Is that where youv'e been? Hiding out with the witnesses? I liked your thread. That's just how I feel. Maybe you are not aware of a breakaway group from the jw's that claim that God already did df the wt org? yup. For apostasy. They are no longer the fds. This other group is! Sorry, can't remember the name of them but, they sound even crazier than the jw's. Good luck on your dfing this elder, may he come in all nervousness and angst at your jc meeting. carla

  i have been concerned since i read on a couple of posts about the pro-jw documentary which is in the works to be publicly aired on pbs.

  i studied the website, and it looks extremely favorable to watchtower.

  There is going to be a program on 20/20 next Friday on Kabalah. Maybe, they being in a religious mood might want to do a show on jw's. I think by the trailers, they are using the celebrity angle as well as opposers. There are enough celeb. jw's to do the same. Any thought on writing 20/20? carla

  they start making remakes of remakes...... i watched the original king kong, not at the theatre but on tv.

  i watched the remake at the theatre and fell in love with jessica lange.

  now they are remaking that movie.. i watched the superman cartoon series and the the tv series.

  When you hear Pink Floyd put to Muzak in an elevator! or when someone attempts a remake of Supertramp. Or when your kid says, "hey mom listen to this, it's Brian Adams and your scratching your head thinking, where have I heard this name. Then they play it and it's "hey, that's from when I was young!" or You shop the Jr. department cause the ladies is just too old ladyish and the jr styles are from when you were young, so which department can you go to? try to find a middle of the road I guess.

  my name is jean, and im with a public service group who is concerned with the spread of destructive cults.

  did you know that there is a cult in this area and that they are responsible for wrecking several families here?

  well, i hope you will take a moment or two to look over this little brochure that we have prepared to inform you so that you will know what to look out for.

  I think you missed my earlier thread- I had told husband that the day he goes door to door so will I! I can't help it if they have sucked his memory right out of him! So the other day he actually took off work to do fs!!!! Funny, he couldn't get off to see a project our daughter had been working on for six months in school! so, I needed to keep to my pomise and I hit 54 houses. Left them in mailboxes/newspaper boxes. Will go again tonight or in the early morn. But, I will behave myself and leave them only in the paperboxes. I wouldn't want Silentlambs to get in trouble because of me. So nice though, I went at about 10:30 or so, in my suit and shorts and flipflops! Beautiful night. I have 50 more folded and ready at the moment. I would have done more but ran out. Didn't take long at all. Suppose they will use the "she's a spiritual endangerment" thing on him. We'll see.

  My argument is- how is what I'm doing any different? (forget they have the 'truth" for moment) they like to use "motive" alot, it seems to me. They truly believe in what they are doing, same for me. Only I really do have the truth! ha ha. There is not anything false in the Silentlamb brochure and the cease & desist is not any kind of statement of 'truth'. Simply stay the hell off my property, well, that's the short version.

  MacGregor Ministries has a leaflet that is mainly just a warning about the jw's. No preaching in it. I think they call it 'Be Prepared', goes on to say things like- be prepared to give up, saluting flag or any patriotism, blood, jobs must be approved...etc... stuff like that. I believe it costs 10.00 per 100 and included is a 'no watchtower visits please' sticker (like the no smoking sign). In my "door to door" the other night (54 houses) I just printed off the trifold available from Silentlambs and folded the 'cease & desist' letter around it with 'How to get on the Jehovah's Witness Do Not Call List Good for one year! I may order from MacGregor for the leaflets as well. carla

  i gotta know.... what was the wierdest or craziest things you saw people do or say during a jc?.

  example... i swore if i was ever called into a jc again... i would wait about 10 minutes into the meeting, stand up and pull my pants down to my ankles, throw a chair through the plate glass windows in the "backroom" and then jump out screaming "get away from me....aaahhg!

  Lot of threads about sexual misconduct today. Sounds like jw's are more morally corrupt than the average person to me. Maybe it's just reading this all today. I'm already disgusted with the whole org. Now all this too! My husband is even more of dumbass than I thought before, and that's considerable. carla

  Ignorant Dub Friend Just Don't Get It

  man i spent two and a half hours chatting with a dub friend of mine about how messed up the wtbts is.

  i explained to him that i'm agnostic too.

  it was soo frustrating, he just couldn't get it.

  ditto to everything. That's how I feel when me & husband have tried to discuss anything. He doesn't seem to listen and I can see he is busy thinking about what he is going to say next. It's not just me either, kids say the same thing, just different topics. However, now I think he has been told he can't discuss things with me anymore. But yet they are not controlling him! go figure. carla

  kinda funny re. District Assembly

  over the past few years i would buy my old dub friend and his wife a coffee in the mornings and we would car pool to the district conventions.

  he just wrote me an email and asked if i would be getting the coffee's again for them this year, all tounge in cheek.

  i replied "no problem, just come find me on the assembly grounds.

  average amount of homes?

  can anyone tell me about what the average amount of homes are 'hit' in field service in one time of going?

  i ask because i always said the day he goes door to door, so will i. i just 'hit' 54 mailboxes/newspaper boxes in a very short time.

  (nice walk) i printed out the tri-fold from silentlambs and included the 'cease & desist' letter with "how to get on the jehovah's witness do not call list printed on the outside.
