i just recently heard of another person (jws) taking their life by suicide, a woman in her 30's.. sheesh, reflecting back upon all the other past jws that unfortunately did this, it creates an unnerving acknowledgement, jws are more likely to die from suicide than from refusing a blood transfusion.
i remember going back to the 1970's there were occurrences of people who i knew who were associated with the jws in one way or another committing suicide.. at the time i thought well people will do that just like the rest of the general population, not taking notice about the association with the jws.
but now i do see a connection in knowing of how people are mentally entrapped by this religoius cult in their psychological mind set and sociological behavior.

I'm only at the 20 min mark and can hardly watch it. Might have to watch it in sections. I can't even imagine how some of you must feel watching it who have experienced such things. My heart just breaks thinking about it.

Why shouldn't they announce where the speaker is from? (Special Talk Chairman page)
all or nothing said this in a previous thread, "we were told the "identifying mark of true christians is this love among the brothers".
it was said in the thread about not being invited to things.. i have seen it many times in re: to jw's.
how do jw's handle luke 6:32 then?
sigh, I figured.
To most Christians that is one of the hard parts of Christianity, loving those who are difficult to love. Love them anyway. But then jw's define love far differently than most.

How do jw's handle Luke 6:32 then? This is from the NIV - (maybe they took it out of the NWT?) This scripture alone should make a jw think, in my opinion. From shunning, cliques, judging others spirituality, etc.. etc... and generally finding excuses to treat their own (and non jw) people like crap. So what would the current light be on the scripture below?-
“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
from a member of the board asking for this to be posted.. hi.
i'm pimo.
could you please let people know about this?
If congregations are being forced to merge with other cong's then what about trying to keep congs to less then say 140-120 people or so? I know that they allow different congs in each kh at different times but some must have to overlap (lol). Would some jw's see this as the 'religion' becoming like the mega churches? Yes, I realize that a cong of 200 would not be considered 'mega' by normal standards but we are talking about jw's here.
i read something today that immediate brought the watchtower/jws to mind.
something to share with jws the next time they come knocking at your door.
i'll even quote it from the nwt - luke 18:9-14.
" ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like everyone else..."- I have used that on my jw often. It only gives pause for a few moments then quickly fades away into self/jw justification . Then again, mine wasn't a born in so perhaps he still has some sense of shame when sitting on the jw judgement seat. The brainwashing kicks in quickly so any moment of normal reasoning is just as quickly forgotten or brushed aside as evil thinking?
this from j.w survey :.
https://jwsurvey.org/we knew they did this to a degree, but this is a blatant way of siphoning money to where the leaders want it, with no control, no transparency, and no way for anyone to be able to see where it has gone.
jehovah’s witness uk headquarters dissolves kingdom hall charities, seizes full control of property and finances.
What would happen if a cong said no? or should I just revisit the Menlo park fiasco?
I understand a cong saying no is not likely. Just a what if question.
hi guys...well watchtower gets wackier and wackier!.
so watchtower has hired the author of several books on satanism & self proclaimed 'vampire' society member(!
) vlad...i mean massimo introvigne to defend them against a report by two academics recommending the dutch govt investigate jws.
Is there an article about this on any news source in English?
do any of you remember things you should never have said to a fellow j.w ?.
two of mine come to mind, one was when we were out in field circus one day and my companion was complaining of knee pain, he explained, " it has a crack in it ", i replied " that explains why my bum hurts, that's got a crack in it", the other one was when a guy showed me a chef's knife he had bought for chopping, and i said " i always wanted a big chopper ".. you ?.
I used the f word a few times when my jw first joined up and I had to meet with a jw or two. It is not a word I use often, for extreme emergencies! I feel kinda bad about it because the one jw had no clue I was so against them in the first place. The elder I used it on? pfft, no guilt there! he was a pompous ass. Oddly, I just found out he has apparently disappeared from jw land or maybe to some other cong? I hope he has left all together and my words haunt him. (I'm not being mean, it involved a case of sexual abuse) It was righteous use of the f word in that case. lol
